I've noticed this about mine to. I figured that I've drove a car for so many years that a SUV just handles different. Pretty hard for me to get use to

Wow, I feel just the opposite--I definitely have an on-center feel, but I think the steering is a bit too slow lock-to-lock. But maybe that's because I'm used to the quick steering of sports cars. It only took a few turns of the wheel in my M3 to go from lock-to-lock, and my 4Runner feels like a barge in comparison.

You might want to get your alignment checked if you're constantly having to make corrections to stay in your lane.

So far my biggest complaint is the darn transmission on my 4 runner. It just seems confused on what it's doing. I really hate that drag down feeling you get when you let off the gas. I also notice this with the cruise control on. When the cruise backs down I can feel the truck drag down and then pick up. Sometime I feel the transmission shift into 1st gear after I've stopped

I experienced this drifting problem with the stock Dunlops. When I switched to Revos, it went away. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the improved tracking comes from the new tires or the re-balancing (or both).

That'll probably be partly due to the tires... the stock Dunlops at least have very flimsy sidewalls. Try varying their pressure. It could be an alignment issue too.

You won't find it because there isn't a mod to make the rear window go up with the remote.

That one appears to be based on the difference between inside and outside air temperatures.

Try this: Do not turn on the AC. If outside air temp is 70 degrees set your inside temp (up/down control) to 72 degrees and then gradually step the temperature down. You'll hit a point where you'll see the light on the inside/outside air button triggers to ON as the system decides that sucking in the relatively "hot" outside air is a bad thing. Darned computers want to make all of the decisions.

I think that even if you turn the fan to OFF the computer can still shut off the outside air based on the last temperature selection.

Agreed. And it's especially annoying when the car's been parked facing the sun so the outside thermo gets hot even tho the air temperature is actually fairly cool. So outside it's 70 degrees but the sun-baked thermo tells the computer it's 100 degrees, and meanwhile inside it's 140 degrees (having been parked in the sun) and that's the air you get blasted on your face! Wonderful if you have wet hair I suppose!

I can vaguely understand the reasoning behind the system but it's execution is so utterly flawed and full of holes that it's useless.

My complaints-

1. Pink tinted rear lights. -pink are u serious... ughhhhhh
2. Disgusting sulfur/egg smell with backwindow down.
-so foul and even embarassing with others in the car
3. Wimpy JBL system- indash changer was a trap. If i knew it came with such a crappy low bass system i wouldnt have gotten it.
4. Seats get annoying always find my self adjusting them.
5. Door panels are flimsy and cheap. I think the excess of cup holders doesnt help. Im always hearing vibrations in the panels.
6. Rear subwoofer to shallow to replace with a decent one.
7. built in compass would have been nice
8. oh and of course not being able to bring the back window back up

Simple - air recirculation. If I could figure out how to disconnect that feature, I would. I hate it when all I want is outside air coming in, and I turn the temp to LO, and the recirculate feature gets turned on by default. Hate it. And it stays that way when I turn the truck off and then on again. Did I say I hate that?

Oh, OK, so there's a second feature. The rear door HAS to be opened by using the handle on the door. Why not have a button on the key fob to release the latch? Dumb design.

And no lights on the Homelink buttons.

Oh, another one - the LCD in the heater/fan/clock/computer cluster. It's very hard to read under the best of circumstances, and impossible in sunlight. Should be LEDs.

4 things on a vehicle as complex as this one. Not bad. I really love everything else about it. But that darn air recirculation. Drives me nuts. I hate it.

You know I have the complete opposite on my 05 SE. The damn recirculate doesn't stay on after I stop the vehicle and restart it and if I change the settings it turns off!!

It was not meant as a fix. I was simply illustrating what the computer would do based on temperature differences.

Ford and GM have failed me on that.

Is the light under the hood ever bright enough anyway to be useful in other cars??

My 78 280Z had a light mouted under the hood with about 5' of wire wound behind it. You could pop the light and move it around. Basically a wired flashlight.
Doesn't BMW put a rechargable flashlight in the glove box?

If I were to break down or have a flat here in so. Califunky; I'd just call AAA and tell them to be sure to bring a freaking flashlight along.

There's no flashlight or light under the hood because Toyota is confident enough that we won't be stranded on the side of the road in the dark.
