What is your opinion on Black JDM headlights?

I really like the look of these and I am considering ordering some (not from this site) for my 99 silver Runner. My headlights have some chips on them. I don't know much about them and don't know of anyone with them.

i had them. i bought the ebay ones and they were really cheaply made and the light output sucked. it looks like the ones you posted are the same ones i had. basically if they are less than $200, don't buy them. i'm pretty sure the ones burtman carries are OEM quality.

its not that its the fact they just suck the way they spread light is horrible that is why you want real oem 99-02 headlights

if you get the ebay ones, yes. its not them being black headlight that kills the output, its just they used a cheap replacement to paint. a cheap ebay replacement that isn't black will have the same output.

the lights aren't tinted. the surround is just painted black

Actually I ordered 99-02 headlights from Burtman and they were the Eagle Eyes brand. Let's just say that the quality of those lights were bad enough that I willingly spent another $350 on new OEM headlights and I "couldn't" return the Eagle Eyes.

Wow so the ones from burtman are the same as those on ebay..that sucks sorry for your loss

really? wow that sucks. i figured for the price difference and since he usually sells higher quality stuff, they would be Depo or OEM. thanks for letting us know

FYI- there is no such thing as black JDM lights for 3rd gen 4Runners and no 4Runner came with them from the factory,they are simply painted by a 3rd party and sold through vendors,Toyota never sold these and it seems to be a big misconception that they did and this is why quality control isn't there and some might buy a set that works great and others will buy a set that is crap and most likely they won't live up to OEM standards.

Spend your money on a real mod.

Yeah Eagle Eyes is a garbage brand for headlights. The beam pattern is all over the place. The only aftermarket headlight of great quality that I know of is Depo. It matches the OEM beam pattern exactly but I'm not sure if they make the black ones.

Ok, So I will wait and do more research on the Black headlights, maybe I will get them and do a HID retro fit.

I love my Eagle Eye LED tail lights. Very good quality after years of use. But these Eagle Eye black headlights are the worst $$$$ I have ever spent on my vehicle. I wont even sell them on Ebay because Im afraid I will get negative feedback or a request for return. Maybe if someone did the HID conversion they may work. I dont know. They looked okay but I wasnt in love.

Man, they look good but if the light quality is poor then I will pass. IMO they look damn good.
