What killer deal did you get for your 4runner?

What killer deal or deals you get for your 4runner? Whether its online or at your local store. This to help other 4runner owners get in on the deal before it gone. Or if the deal is so killer its unbelievable and you just want to gloat.

I guess I'll start. I went to look at this ARB bumper on CL ARB OFF ROAD FRONT BUMPER it was at a body shop and I offer the seller $100. It was in fair condition, but missing the mounting brackets. Seller said it was to low and I end up walking. Got out to the car and a guy approached me from adjacent body shop. He asked me "how much were they asking for that bumper?" I said $400, he said follow me I have one just like it. This one was in great shape and he said he wanted $400 also. I offed $350 and this is what it looks like.

my WARN xd9000ce winch that i bought for $200 or 300 dont remember -not really important either, being that WARN took it and tore it all appart, replaced everything that was broken or worn, put all no internals and cable as well as wires and controlls, gave me a brand new roller fairlead, brand new remote, bla bla bla, basically they gave me a brand new winch, the only thing that is the same from the old one was the serial number, and they even upgraded some parts, like the motor, and put in seals were it never had seals to help weather/water tight the winch. and they did this all for free, not a dime out of my pocket... $1300 winch with a $300 motor upgrade for $300, yes please. -its one reason i will only ever run a WARN winch. :trophy:


or my ARB Safari Snorkel for $100... or my ARB air locker for $400 shipped to my door, and ARB completely rebuilding it for me after i broke it, again not a dime out of my pocket for it. or my Sequoia wheels im running currently, that i paid $350 for with basically brand new studded snow tires, sold the tires for $450 and so i was paid $100 to take some of the most desired wheels for our runners, that was a tough day lol

lol sorry man i hope i didnt just steal all your thunder. if it helps you got a way better deal on your ARB bumper than i did, i bought mine brand new and paid cost and still paid twice what you did, -and mine didnt come with any PIAAs lol. sweet score

you can find great deals on used warn winches... i bought mine used, but i made the mistake of buying it at night, and in only the light of my headlights, and i didnt look it over close enough, the next day in the light i noticed it was all busted up... the seller said it was on the front of his jeep and the jeep got in a accendent and so he parted it out, he showed me the jeep, and it had been rolled(only saw the back and side of it) so i just assumed the winch didnt get touched, wrong, he hit a bank first then rolled... long story short i thought i had just bought a $300 paper weight, so i called up WARN talked to a couple techs and they said no worries, to bring it down theyed take a look at it and see what they could do. two weeks later i had a brand new winch. -most of the parts the used to rebuild my winch had some scratches or scuffs and it was stuff they could not put on a new winch leaving the factory. like i cared, its sitting in behind a bumper, hell the thing could be bright pink for all i care, no ones gonna see it, so who cares if it has a scratch or two lol.

i have bought several used WARN winches, infact i have never bought one brand new. cant bring myself to spend $800+ on one, not that they are not worth it. point being doing pay full retail, buy one used and its just as good, sure you might have to spend $100 on a new cable or a remote(lost remotes will really make a winch "worthless" lol) and you have just saved a ton of money on one. i have also never had or seen or heard of a WARN winch going bad or crapping out, cant say the same for smittybuild(sh*tybuilt) -cheep chinese knock-offs. to me their customer service and the fact that they stand behind their product is what keeps me coming back. and i think after that/this i might just be willing to shell out the $800+ for a new one if i needed to. -also for under $500 you can get into a brand new VR series WARN 8000lb winch. its their entry level model but its still backed by the WARN name. -but again you could probably pick up a xd9000 for $400 used with some scratches... and you dont need anything bigger than a 9.5 -the bigger you go, the less cable you get, and the bigger physically the winch is. the fastest winch you can fit in that bumper is a xp9.5 physically its basically the same size as my xd9000. and the xd9000 and m8000 are the same size. and you can not fit the xd9000i or a 9.5ti -nothing with an "i" or bigger than a 9000lb will fit in the ARB bumper.

There seems to be a theme of bumpers and WARN winches in this thread.

I bought my ARB bumper for $160 in very good condition with all the brackets, it was just dirty. The bumper came with two PIAA lights, a set of clear corners, and a brand new transmission cooler. I sold the PIAAs, clear corners, and cooler and now have about $40 into the bumper.

After searching for a while I bought a very clean WARN M8000 for somewhere around $300. It came with the solenoid, a recovery kit (bag, snatch block, etc), steel cable, fairlead, cover, and a mounting plate for a Jeep. I sold the spare parts for about $100 and replaced the steel cable with a synthetic line. Coincidentally the solenoid cover fits perfectly into the "W" cutout in the bumper.

I found a brand new DieHard P4 on Craigslist for somewhere around $70 (can't remember the exact amount)

I've got 40$ into my HO alt, and also got about 40' of 2/0 wire for free after selling the other 40' (usually around 4 50 a ft.)

Also recently got 4 35"BFG ats (2 new, 2 50%) with a set of jeep rims and spidertrax for 600 and sold the spidertrax for 150 and rims for 400, so I've got 50 bucks into those.

I feel like my deal on my Runner itself was the greatest deal haha. The guy posted it up on CL for $6500 and I went to check it out with a buddy of mine the paint wasn't it good shape and the CEL was on so I had talked him down to 5500 and then I test drove it and my buddy luckily who was wearing a Toyota dealerships mechanics shirt looking all professional told the guy that the transmission was slipping and he ended up giving it up for about $3500. Took it home to get the shift solenoids change out and, viola! I scored a 98 SR5 4WD with 129k miles at the time for under 4k because KBB had them listed at $8000, I felt like I was on top of the world haha. Still do on occasion.

I bought a rear mat and cargo cover for $35 off CL. I used the mat in my wife's Runner, then sold the cover for $120.

I bought my lift (Tundra up front and LC out back) for $340 total...not too bad.

Haven't scored any huge deals yet, but I'm always on the lookout!
