what kind of cameras do you use?

I've seen some awesome pictures here on this forum. I was just curious on what kind of cameras people are using. I'm using a point and shot camera, Cannon 320s for my pictures...but i would like to upgrade to a digital SLR camera.

Does anyone have any tips on photography when shooting their 4runner?

Canon SD200 Digital Elph 3.2MP

$278 online from Wal-Mart last Winter. Excellent pictures, reliable so far, takes short videos (30-40 seconds), battery lasts a LONG time, super compact size.

Anything over 3 megapixel would only be needed for large prints (8x10 and up) or for capturing small details on the PC because of the higher resolution capability. Otherwise, don't spend more money for a bigger camera.

STAY AWAY FROM HP and KODAK. Bleh, have used both and they are not good at all.

We just bought an Olympus IR-300. Pretty amazing what a camera its size can do. About the size of a deck of cards, 5.1MP. Only wish the compact cameras had more than 3x optical zoom.

I just got a Canon Digital Rebel 300D SLR with a sigma lens. This replaced my Sony F717 which was a great camera. Overall, I think Canon digital cameras produce a sharper looking picture than the other brands.

LOVIN' it! its small... light... easy to use... and the shutter sound is like... "mmmm beautiful!" I will never get another camera that doesn't sound like my XT.

I find that the other dSLRs are a little bulky and big. Kind of like.. old school cameras... that's why I don't like the 20d, or 10d, or the nikon d70s. Plus the shutter sound.. sounds... like old technology. All Canon products are

I love this camera. It has alot of features and its expandable. I can add lens filters and more powerful zoom lenses.

I suggest the best investments after the camera itself are a sturdy tripod and a good polarizer lens. The polarizer will deepen the blues and give you better color contrast. It will also save your lens from scratches and possible breaks if dropped. Cannons website has some including tutorials. However for tips, I like this one.

Some photography stores have cheap if not free classes on weekends. They like to bring in customers and gain loyalty.

couldn't agree more. buy a tripod that's easy to use.. and easy to carry. You don't want to set up a difficult tripod. Try manfrotto for italian craftmanship.

one thing about getting a nice slr... is that it doesn't take nice pictures for you. You'll still need to set up the shot.. and all that.. and even with a "not-as-nice" camera.. you can still get better pictures then a slr.
