What setting is everyone using with a 6112 setup?

Mr Wolfgang

Curious what settings you'll be using on the 6112's since you're going with the 1" Bilstein coil in the back for the 5160s.

You have my exact setup in mind. 6112s up front and 5160s in the rear with either a 1" coil or a 1.5" coil. I was thinking either the 1.6", 1.2" or .8 circlip settings.

This is actually my wife's daily driver so, not looking to go too high. We have a 2011 Limited and the XREAS shocks are all shot at ~120K miles and the dealer is nuts asking for about $3,500 for parts and labor (even though that seems to be the going rate from reading tons of posts about this topic). We just so happen to need new tires too. So, swapping out to some TRD Pro Gray wheels using 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. Doing everything at the same time and I'll still come out saving money.

Just want to get it close to leveled out and only about 1" to 1.5" total of lift increase from stock. So I can meet my wife somewhere in the "middle" of having it lifted but not too high where I have to listen to her complain about getting up in it wearing work clothes!

Have you already done it and if so, any pictures?

Thanks in advance!

i would set it at the 1.6 setting if you will be adding a 1" coil in the rear.

Hey rrsuby25rs,

I did move forward with the install.

I decided I would try to just level the 4 runner and if worse came to worse I would add the 1" lift and 5160's to the back if I overshot the front lift.
Luckily I think I nailed the front lift using 5 on the drivers side and 3 on the pass side. My 4runner does not have KDSS. The truck is stock otherwise for now.

I love the ride so much more now that I replaced the factory shocks. No more nose dives. I hope this helps!

I should add that this picture was taken minutes after the install. The front has settled down a little bit since this photo. I just don't have a new pic right now.

Awesome! It looks pretty damn level to me too. So, you did end up going with the 1.6" settings up front on the 6112's, like I'm thinking of doing, but just kept it stock in the rear for now, huh? Adding in the 5160's and a 1" spring would give you (us) just a tad bit of rake then which, I still think would look and drive just fine. I'm just hung up now on what 1" spring to go with or just go ahead and get the Wheeler T13 1.5" spring but still stick with the 1.6" settings up front. You have same rims as I'm going to go with too (except in black) and I'm just going stock tire size on them - 265/70/17.

Between that info and pic you supplied, tm965 suggestion and everything else I've read on this forum for my idea of a setup, I'm allllllmost sold. What does everyone think about a 1" spring compared to a 1.5" spring but still using the 1.6" settings up front? Will I end up with major rake then?

Almost time to get it done before OBX trip so I can be setup for some beach driving!

The more I read the more confused I become.

2019 ORP with KDSS
6112
5160
Eibach 1” springs

I want a .5” forward rake

Wheelers set my 6112 at the 4th position. This seems like it will not be enough lift. ??

Average rake on my 4R is 2.7”

So adding 1” springs would be at least a 3.7 rake, correct?

7th clip setting says 3”
6th clip setting says 2.7”

So 4th clip setting at 2” seems to low.

Am I on track here? Suggestions from anyone running this setup?

There was a post with 5his set up but no mention on the clip location.

Also opening the KDSS valves seems like a must. I even read you should let it settle an hour before closing. Then drive a 100 miles or so and open it again, settle, then close it again.

Thanks for the help

You really shouldn’t go around opening valves because someone says you should. When I installed my 6112s I set them both at the same clip and the 4Runner is level. Oh and I do have KDSS

I would take a look at the new Bilstien coils (they came out recently). they are designed to match the 6112's and 5160's. I think the 1" lift (1-1.5") in the rear would take you back to almost a stock rake. Which is fine in my opinion as it gets rid of the nose dive which plagues the stock suspension.

If you DON'T have KDSS, settings 5D&3P on the 6112's should give you a level look. Of course any added weight on your vehicle has the potential to change things.

Pull the trigger you will love it.

That sounds like marketing to me. What is their spring rate? Is it any different from the Eibach's 202? And are we sure Eibach isn't making the new Billstein springs in the first place?

Don't know who's making them I just read about them on their website. Also someone on an earlier post got them installed when their truck was picked as a test vehicle at Bilstien in California. Maybe find that post and ask them or call Bilstien and see if they will tell you. They have different spring rates and heights from what I remember reading on their website.

Thank you for all the feedback! I think I'm gonna go with the entire setup but using the 1" spring. I don't really care who makes the spring, to be honest. I just don't want to go too high....so, again, I don't have to listen to complaints from the wifey on her daily driving. Level or stock rake is what I'm after and not too high. I for sure don't want any reverse rake. I don't have KDSS and I won't be adding any true off roading type equipment in front or back. The only weight would be in the rear from a full trunk for long road trips and sometimes, 2 bikes.

Thanks again!!!!!

Falcon Kit

So, I totally changed my mind and went with the fairly new Falcon Sport/Haul kit instead.

TOYOTA 4RUNNER | Falcon Shocks

I've only been running it for a day but I had my local shop rip out the XREAS system fully and install this. All went really well, it rides way better so far that I can tell and it looks pretty tough too. I swapped out stock 20" rims to TRD Pro grey rims along with new Nitto's.

I don’t know the spring rates, but they are indeed made by Eibach.

Bilstein 8112/8100s springs are also from Eibach. A little more info here:

Reviving this in hopes that someone has used the 6112 at the 5/3 setting to get approximately 2" up front and used a 1" spring in the rear to keep close to stock or w/ some rake. Considering the Bilstein 1" spring or the Dobinsons 599 for the rear.

If I bought 6112 and 5150s for a 2016 pro to replace the stock bilsteins and wanted to keep it at the stock height it came with which is what I think is 1 in over regular 4R. Would i set the clips to #3driver #2 passenger? That equates to 1.14

This thread was helpful when I installed 6112/5100’s and B12 coils back in January. I went with standard 600 lb front springs on setting 6/4 for non-KDSS. Reporting back with a 6 month measurement in the event it helps someone else.
I’ve put just over 4k miles on, no squeaks, drives is still very smooth. This is a DD, it has seen no serious off road use.
Just took measurements on flat ground and find no settling. Below is before measurement center hub to fender : actual lift achieved - current measurement center hub to fender … current measurement bottom of wheel to fender.

DF 19.5” : +2.25” - 21.75”… 30.625”
PF 19.875” : +2.125” - 22”… 30.875”
DR 21.75” : + 1.25” - 23”… 32”
PR 21.75” : + 1.25” - 23”… 32”

Can you compare your 6112 setup with your ironman setup on your white truck? Loved the stance on your white truck. Why didn't you go with ironman again? Thanks
