What type of rubber to replace carpet?

I'm looking at replacing my carpet with some sort of rubber matting, but not sure what to though, any suggestions? Originally I was thinking of going with some Herculiner straight on however the two issues I have with that is if I need to get access to my wires it will be a pain and also I need something water tight as water is constantly spilling my trunk/cab. What materials have you guys used in the past?

Thanks for checking in, it's definitely pretty bad out here, the National Guard has been deployed to help with evacs. Luckily I live smack in the middle of Fort Collins next to campus so the river hasn't been able to reach me. Other parts of No Colorado haven't been so lucky...

I have the factory molded vinyl in my '89 4Runner. I briefly searched to see if I could find it for a 3rd gen but couldn't find it. I have Weathertech liners in my '00 and they cover a lot of the floor. I ordered them directly from Weathertech not long ago and I think they cost about $160 for back and front. They fit really well. I already had a liner in the cargo area that served an earlier 3rd gen.
