What wheel will fit with stock tires

Try search function. There is a ton of information on wheels and tires. 1Engineer has a pretty useful tire fitment guide which you can apply to the particular wheels you are getting.

Serious answer: it depends on the width of the wheels, but probably. The stock tires require 17"ø wheels and have a recommended wheel width of 7"-9".

Follow up smart-@$$ answer: HUH??? The FIRST thing most people get rid of are the tires because stock tires are bare minimums. If you're going to the trouble of putting pretty wheels on your truck then don't cheap out and reinstall the boring OEM tires. Sell them to a used tire place or on Craiglist and put on a set of good tires.

Pretty much any 17" wheel will work with stock tires. Same goes for the 20" wheels if you have 20" tires.

I just picked up a set of pro comp predators - 17x8.5 0 offset. I want to run these on stock tires for now.. only because the tires are brand new. 5100's coming, but wanted to make sure i wouldn't have any clearance issues with no lift, unless its just the fender liner mod?

You might need to trim or remove the front mudflaps also, but otherwise you should be fine.

thanks! i haven't seen anyone else running these rims other than got_rwd?. He mentioned they were still rubbing with the liner mod.. but he had 285's and I'm not sure if it had a lift

Do not fall for the typical "tires gotta look tough" blather prevalent on this forum. There are many on here who actually need a tougher tire, but there are also many who repeat the mantra just because "cool" ...

Use what suits your wallet and driving needs. Lots of owners have driven the oems to 50k.

I drove my stock Dunlops to 43K. I agree with Philsey... get the tire you need for your purpose.
