Oh Crap
Update:
On Tuesday I met the service manager and he and I measured the brakes. All brakes checked out to be 4mm+ in front and 5mm+ in back on passenger. Drivers side were above these measurements - as expected. The've admitted they were wrong and are embarassed. They've refunded the 60$ oil change service and other dealer 25$ bake inspection fee. And as predicted put a record in the tech's personnel file. They also claimed nobody in the shop is incented to do needless repairs. Right....
They also left some vague promise out there to help with my timing belt/service in 2000 miles.
I'm not convinced they fixed their problem and now open for ideas on the right thing to do from a social media/next steps perspective.
Ideas? Thoughts?
And as predicted put a record in the tech's personnel file.
Son of a *****, Rix, they tossed him under the bus, Yep called that one,
So You know tech Jockey its good that you followed up on it, Now you got a free oil change, and refunded the brake inspection fee, Cool,
But your right, your a master of the obvious, not sure what you can do, They just pulled the stupid card, but Toyota techs are not stupid, Just look @ Rix, sharp as a tack,
If there was no incentive #1 the tech would not even had looked @ the brakes,
Follow up on that, My BS radar is going off on that one, but you know maybee just let it slide, the dealership stepped up, admitted error, and made it right with you,
All that needs to happen is a few more folks like yourself to step up and all of this crap will stop in a big hurry,
As far as the posts on this thread saying to grow up and just go to a different shop, No, You did the right thing,
But questionable upsells are common place in the trade, always good to get a 2nd opinion
Now Tech jockey, I have found a even more das****ly act pulled by Toyota Sales, they have educated the techs to identify factory type grease as a failure, I to would like to expose this, and am looking for Ideas, Now on this on the tech will not get a write up, but the sales team,
So Boy dont really know what you can do, I have em dead to rights on this grease deal but they have a formidable wall I cant seem to crack,
"The've admitted they were wrong" Should be singular here if its just the tech, no they about it, so that tells me "They" the service writer is in on it, they get a cut as well you know,
They ? the tech has a mouse in his pocket, or a devil on his shoulder telling him to "Upsell" in the form of a service writer,, write up that SOB as well I say
