What's Best For Floormat & Carpet Care?

What is the best product for:

A. Cleaning dirty floormats & carpet
B. Protecting Floormats & Carpets from getting dirty/stained?

No matter how careful i am my floormats always seem to get dingy pretty quick.

I have Catch-All mats which work very well with my muddy boots. I wash them at the quarter car wash when I wash the 4Runner. They fit exactly and cover everything needing coverage. The OEM mats sit in the garage.

That looks pretty useful & convenient, but i am partial to the stock 4Runner mats.

I am looking really for the best protectant for the mats & the best shampoo cleaner products.

Anyone have and prefereneces or recommendations?

Before I bought my husky liners I used blue coral carpet cleaner on my OEM mats.
I also used a small scrub brush to help loosen up some of the dirt and stuff. After a good vac spray the cleaner on the mats and go to town with the brush. I even would drag the brush in opposite directions to give it the freshly detailed look(much like a baseball field if you will!)

Used Oxy-Carpert cleaner on the grey carpet today, followed by a wet vac-suction (carpet shampooer).

The Oxy-clean carpet stuff came from wally world.

Took out coffe stains.

Any tips for gum? My buddy tracked gum into my car today after leaving the beach.

Probly just need to buy a new floor mat, but if anyone has had any real success removing gum, i'd love to hear about it,

I don't know about carpet but peanut butter takes gum out of hair.

You can also use ice to freeze the gum and scrape off as much as you can with a dull knife (like a butter knife) before using the peanut butter.

fantasic oxy-clean

Awhile ago I went to pick up my venti sugarbomb gutblaster chocolate coffee thing from my cupholder. The bubble on top wasn't on right, and the whole drink went sloshing to the floor. I had about half an inch of chococoffee slush down there, on both sides. I don't think I've ever been more pissed in my life.

After soaking it all up I found that fantasic oxy-clean spray really did the trick getting it out of there. I had to use a huge amount blotting the stains out, and it took forever, but it did the trick where other products, some even more specific to cleaning auto carpet, didn't do a thing.

the moral: beware the starbucks drive-thru across from the mall in lakewood, ca. and pick cups up from the middle.
