Will black rock series 997 type 8 steal wheel 16x8, 6x5.5, 5"bs fit on my 02 Runner? They cost $291.80 for 4, is that a good deal. and if not, can you give me some cheap suggestions, maybe some with the (road loc) or fake beedlock. If you know what i mean!

Well, 5" back spacing is alot, you are bordering on too much, especially if you are lifted or have oversize tires. I would be wary if you aren't running wheel spacers.

Also, googling that model shows it for $59 per wheel, so I think $291 for 4 might be high.
 
Your stock wheel should have a 4.5 inch backspacing. If you go with 5 inch BS then your wheels are going to be more tucked under the truck. Not sure if that's the look you are after.. Wheel spaces run about $125 for a set of 4, I think. That may put you into the price range of some wheels with less BS. Just a thought.
 
I think the Crager soft 8's are similar to what you're lookin at. Pretty sure they are 4.5" BS. IMO I wouldn't buy wheels with 5" BS and throw on spacers... kind of a waste of money. They make wheels very identical with less backspacing and then you wouldn't have to run spacers.
 
ok so say i stick with the BS of 4.5 right, then the Crager soft 8`s would be good for me? And i want the beefy look, so putting 1icnh wheel spacers wont be a problem for these wheels? And any other suggestions for wheels that look like the Black Rock series? with the 4.5 BS

I'm not really sure what you are asking. You know the backspacing measurements for the wheels you are looking at right? Do the soft 8's come in 4.5 BS? If you are going to add wheel spacers, then you are essentially decreasing the backspacing by the thickness of wheel spacers. If you decrease it alot, then you may cause rubbing on the wheel wells.

You can do most anything you want, but you may need to trim the wheel well. If you don't want to cut, then stay around a final BS of 4.5. If you want them to stick out, then you may need to trim.
 
My cragers have 4" backspacing...and I still kind of wish they stuck out more. I've thought about adding 1" spacers....which would be like buying wheels with 3" backspacing.

5" is just wrong. Don't do it.
 
Just an FYI..
I need spacers with my Cragar soft 8s - the face of the wheels hit the brake calipers without them. I have 4" BS on mine. 5" BS will be ok if you run spacers, but you may as well find wheels that will clear the calipers and if you stay within 4-4.25", you won't need spacers and you can run up to 285/75/16s.

Interesting. Mine are very very close...but don't actually contact the calipers.

I'll bet one of us has aftermarket calipers (or they changed slightly between years). Mine are so close, if I had another 1/16" or so, I would clear them.

I run 1" spacers just in the front so my BS is effectively 3" and I like that stance. It looks good (especially with my tall skinnies) but it also widened my stance and helped make it more stable.

IS THIS THE RIGHT SIZE? bc i thought my wheel size was 16x8 not 16x7?
 
your stock wheel size is 16x7... but if you buy new wheels make sure to get the 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern or they wont work lol
