Wheel removal question

Hello, I have a problem with my wheels, Pro comp Xtreme series.
I wanted to remove the wheels and put my spidertrax spacers but there's a cylinder that seems to be installed/locked on the disc and I don't think I have the tools or the know how to remove it to put the spacers in and my winter wheels.

The cylinder looks like is part of the wheel its about 6 or 8 inch long. I can remove the wheel but the cylinder is locked or installed on the disc.

I have no pictures unfortunately sorry.

I can take the truck to a garage but I don't know if they will install my spacers since in Canada it may be illegal. Or I can make the just change the wheels and put the spacers by myself after, which would be a waste of time/money.

I've never had spacers, but my understanding is:

1.) Remove chrome lug nuts
2.) Remove wheel
3.) Put on spacer where wheel was
4.) Install and torque NEWLY provided nuts to secure spacer to hub (do they recommend Loctite?)
5.) Install wheels on spacer
6.) Put on and torque original chrome lug nuts.

Sorry man, I, along with probably everyone else that has looked at this, have no idea what you are describing.....

:worthless

Is it possible that you had a lug centric wheel and had some adapter to make the wheel a hubcentric?

I think I figured it out.... That cylinder you see is probably a cosmetic "hub cover" that slides into the wheel (it's removable so they can balance your wheel on the balacing machine). Tap it with a rubber hammer. If it's made of metal, it got slightly rusted to the hub.

Is this what you are describing?

I believe some might be screwed on with hex nuts. So before you start hitting with a hammer, make sure that's not the case

Man if you got that right from the original post then either you teach kindergarten to all non english speaking kids or you work in code breaking for the military.

@ the OP-
No offense but if you are that unfamiliar with mechanical bits you should probably take it to a shop and let someone put those on for you.

Wheel spacers are about as straightforward as it gets. It would be a disaster if your wheel came off!

Yes ATL4R your picture descibes it. But to make sure I will take a wheel off and take a picture. Thanks all.

I see nobody has answered you since your pictures went up but as posted above just knock them off with whatever means you like - fist/palm would be a good place to start. Maybe foot/shoe from there.

They will come off. They are not attached in any special way - probably just bonded due to a little rust as mentioned.

ATL4R - Yes, nice work thinking of the center caps. At first, I was picturing the calipers and the rotor.

Anyway, In all fairness to calcrc - I also have a set of Pro Comps and can tell you that the center caps from Pro Comp are tight, very tight...even without being rusted on. The caps are "thousandths" smaller in diameter than any other center cap (I have seen on the 4Runner).

When mine were installed they literally had to be beat onto the hubs both front and rear. To take the caps off I had to use a plastic mallet and a 24inch prybar. A simple kick or hit with a mallet is not going to budge these guys.

I traded my ProComp center caps out for another brand and they fit the hubs and my Pro Comp wheels perfectly.

In your picture, you have taken off the end cap on the center cap, the rest of the center caps will come off after you remove your wheel.

Cheers
