Wheel Spacers

I have noticed that alot of you guys run wheel spacers.

Other than making clearance for wider wheels and tires, is there a purpose for wheel spacers?

For instance, why would someone with stock rims and stock sized tires install spacers?

Stock rims and stock tires leaves the tires inset under the vehicle a little bit. Spacers can widen the width of the track to (or beyond) maximum legal width (edge of the fenders).

As to why... Maybe I'm overthinking it some, but the way I look at it, if you're traversing uneven ground or doing fast maneuvers, the wider your stance, the more stable you're going to be. An exaggerated example would be trying to tip over two objects of equal mass - but one has pontoons tuck to the side. That extra inch or two might be the difference between tipping and not.

Also, the vehicle just looks better with a wider stance. :thumb3:

I realllly want to install them as well but am too worried about having to spend big bucks to fix wheel bearing that ''might'' wear much sooner (this is what I've heard).

I wouldn't worry too much about that, its not much distance at all. Nobody has had problems yet that I have seen.
