Does anyone have any idea why the Wheelers 1.5" T-13 would be $159, while ToyTec is selling the Sway-Away 1.5" for $240? Seems a rather large price difference for a spring, especially if they may be made in the same factory. Some people have said the T-12 is actually the Sway-Away rebadged, in which case ToyTec is adding 50% onto the price.

I have a 2016 trail with KDSS and a full set of 5100s ready to go. I'm still just trying to figure out exactly what I want to do in the rear to lift it approximately 1 inch. It looks like the T-13 coil may be a good option and I would prefer these coils over spacers. I would like to be able to set the front at 1.75 using the stock coils.

Does anyone have this set up? Stock front coils set at 1.75 and the T-13 rear coil's? If so would you mind sharing a photo or two? Thanks!

Good for Toytec. That's capitalism in action. Unfortunately for them, someone stealing their *proprietary* spring from their manufacturer is also capitalism. Yay capitalism. It does work.

Just installed front springs OME 2883 with Bilstein 5100 set at 0 and rear wheelers T13 springs with Bilstein 5100. Stock wheels and tires. After lift measurements from center wheel to fender LEFT FRONT 21.5 RIGHT FRONT 22.0 LEFT REAR 22.75 RIGHT REAR 23.25

Yes they were.....downtown Corpus Christi Tx, Fire Station #1 at the base of the Harbor Bridge.

That's what I thought. I grew up in Portland and have driven over that bridge at least 156 gajillion times. My folks still live there. :-)

I'm installing a similar lift tomorrow. T13 with Bilstein 5100 in rear (with OME 10mm trim packer). ToyTec Ultimate coilovers with Bilstein 5100 in front. I'm hoping to get a result similar to yours. Thank you for all of the very detailed info in your posts. I had not considered the trim packer until I read your post and saw the pics.

I too got exactly 1" lift from my T13 install. Goes well with the front 2.5" lift.

Cool, you should get very similar results. I believe your Ultimate coilovers have 600 lbs coils and the 2883 and 2884 ome coils are I think, 590 lbs coils. Those Toytec Ultimates look to be sweet especially having the adjustability feature. Personally, I think this is a great match with the rear T-13 coils.

I had 5100's on my last two Tacomas but I utilized the factory coils and preloaded for lift. They actually road decently. Decided to go new coils with the 4tr this time and was very impressed at how well the 5100's ride with the new coils (front and rear). The 5100's match up well. Super pleased with mine.
Good luck on your install, it's very straight foward. Hope you end up liking it!

How would you guys describe the difference in ride quality after the upgrade?

I2ay4R did you add the OME springs in the front too?

It rides great. Slightly more firm than stock. Not harsh at all. I'm going to add a .25 top plate spacer to front drivers side to correct 1/2 inch drivers side lean.

Thanks! How much nose dive did it eliminate? I'm about 99.9% sure this is what I'm going with but with the lift enhancer kit.

It still has some nose dive but not near as bad as it was. The lift enhancer kit will give it a more level look.

You could probably just go with 2884 springs up front without the lift enhancer kit. Then put a 10mm spacer in left rear only for lean correction.

After driving with the 5100's plus rear wheelers T13's coils (10mm trim packer drivers side only) and front ome 2883's coils (plus 10mm top plate trim packers both sides) for 3 weeks I would describe the ride as close to factory but a tad stiffer with less body roll and nearly zero nose dive. Very comfortable/smooth riding (not harsh) and great road manners for a daily driver. Off road I've only driven on the beach which was relatively smooth. Just from feel I'd say that this set up will be fine off road at slower speeds. If you want higher speed off road capabilities I'd look into kings/icon/Ome/ect higher cost adjustable coilovers.

Still have retained 2.5" lift in front and 1.5" rear after settling.
Installing the OME 10mm trim packer on the passenger side rear (only) has kept front and rear passenger and drivers sides within 1/8". Virtually no lean!

I got my lift installed last week and finally had some time to post some pictures.

Front: ToyTec Ultimate coilovers with Bilstein 5100s (set at 0). The ToyTec coilovers are adjustable from 1"-3". I have them set at 2". I really wanted 1.75", but the shop said they couldn't get them dailed-down any further. This is a bit disconcerting.

Rear: Wheeler's T13 coils with Bilstein 5100s with OME 10mm trim packer installed on driver's side coil to help with lean. I was hoping to get 1.25"-1.5" from these coils. In reality I got 1.75" the day I picked it up from the shop. I loaded up 3 of my buddies and took it off-roading to help the coils "settle". I am now right at 1.5" lift (maybe 1.6" if I'm being picky).

I got my FN Fx Pro wheels in the mail the same day I did the lift. I put on some 265/75/15-C BFG KO2s. I did have some rubbing in reverse at full turn to the right. I had to trim a small section of the fender/bumper (the MGM part, not the black fender liner).

I really liked the way the stock version drove, but I really, really, really like the way it drives now. There is a little nose-dive when braking really hard (imagine person in front of you slams on brakes for apparently no reason). Under normal braking, I don't notice any nose-dive. When turning, I don't feel nearly as much lean. The ride is 17.352% stiffer than stock. I wavered between 275s and 265s for a long time and ultimately went with 265s because I didn't want to kill my gas mileage or acceleration. I lost 0.4 MPG on a 2.5 hour highway drive (cruise control set at 80 MPH most of the time). I was worried about road noise from the KO2s vs the stock tires. The decibel meter on my iphone says it's 3 dB louder with the KO2s. Acceleration still feels fine. Off-road, the truck feels great, too. I don't feel like the shocks are bottoming- or topping-out and there's plenty of flex.

Overall, I got more lift than I really wanted. My old 4Runner had a 3" front, 2" rear lift and my wife made me sell it because she was tired of climbing in and jumping out. I thought I could pull a fast one on her by installing a very mild lift of 1.75" front, 1.25" rear... but that didn't work. She noticed the difference but has conceded that it's not that bad. I like the way it looks, although some may argue that the wheel wells look a little empty with the 265s (vs 275s).
