Wheels made in China

I think there was a post about this before, but I am not sure if they were talking about Trail rims, or SR5 rims...I've honestly not cared enough to check behind my wheels. That's most likely not the only thing made in china on our trucks, lol.

My 2013 SR5s are Made in China. I don't see why the trails wouldn't be either.

How true...
Try taking off interior panels, you'll quickly find out just how much is "made in china".

Most companies turn to china for cheap labor. China is just a workhorse for the worlds manufactures. Not everything they make is cheap quality. It's whatever's raw materials the company gives the manufacturing plant and how it's built that determines the quality of the product. I'm sure most of what china makes starts with crap quality materials. Apple products are make in china and most can agree they aren't made cheap quality. I'm sure toyota products use high quality materials also.

Quality product comes out of China when it is built to a high level of spec. I can get a high quality wheel manufactured in China by finding a manufacturer to follow my directions. The quality problems with Chinese products come with buying a Chinese made product commissioned by a Chinese company. Someone just told me they got a great deal on some tires. The tires are from a Chinese company...no thanks.

Yep. China, and every other industrialized nation on the planet can make the same parts as everyone else. The difference is in the specs and QA.

The China quality thing is overblown.
If you want a knock off product at half or less the price, then yeah, it's crap.
Many companies have manufacturing facilities there.
Others are willing to "re-brand" and put their name on it.

GM "re-branded Daewoos with their name.
If your willing to put your name on it without any quality control on site, then you gamble with your company name.

All iPhones are made in China. But they have strict quality control.

I have no problem buying brand name products that were manufactured there.
Emphasis on brand name.
