When will the Bilstein 6112 be released?

6112's have landed..

UPS just dropped the kit off.

These shocks are massive! The entire set-up is pretty impressive...

Just one comment. In another 6112 thread I recommended snap ring pliers to position the "circlips." In reality, after getting mine and fondling them, these are not true circlips .. i.e. there are no holes. Still, I believe that external snap ring pliers will work just fine, as will a common garden variety screwdriver.
For those who have concerns that the retaining rings can pop out of the grooves, fear not .. The spring seat captures the retainer completely, precluding the possibility of the ring popping out of the groove.

My 4Runner has not even arrived at the dealer's lot yet, but I plan to order the 5160's for the rear.

people always through out the "much improved ride performance" line without ever qualify exactly how much better and in what way. are you a salesman for them?

Yes I am - I am also an offroad racer and toyota enthusiast. Ive help develop suspension systems for several manufacturers including this one.

I read that the 6112 kit is on backorder for 3 months.

It is now for the current 4runner/fj, the 03-09 4runner kit will be released next week. We had several sets but you guys scooped them up fast.

yeah i think i snagged the last set they had. Who really knows.. they could have a whole warehouse full of them and just blowing smoke up our ass to create a more sense of urgency..

I wish that was the case! We cant get our hands on any more then we did, we actually sold about 60% of the current 6112s in the country, but there was less than 40 sets of each model available.

What are your thoughts about aftermarket strut mount parts. If i order through my local Toyota dealership, its gonna cost me $240. There are some online Toyota parts dealers that I can order for like $165 not including shipping.

I found some strut mount parts made by Moog, KYB, Monroe, etc that are significantly cheaper.

I plan to reuse mine since its barely 14k miles.
I really don't see the need for a new mount, if anything you can just replace the rubber insert/mount.

the motivating drive was not having to disassemble the stock strut/spring and I could leave them intact.

Are you guys planning to mount the 6112 with stock UCAs or is everyone getting LR, TC, or something else?

Gonna try it out with stock. Prob get camburg if I need. But from I'm I'm hearing it's not necessary at 2.5.

It would be nice and 1 less thing to do but justifying $160 or more seems a bit steep for me for a 10mins job since everything is already out. Everything seems to add up fast, $160+ top hat, $100 billet mount, $220+ rear coil, that's about $1500 for this setup. =/ Trying to save every dollar but that seems like it's not working out. lol. Hey, on the bright side, just received all 4 shocks and the 5160's came with the shock boots, so that's one less thing to buy. haha.
