where did you mount your scangauge? (pics request)

Bump this thread! I am getting a scangauge soon and would like to get more ideas on how to mount them.

...But my Ultra-Gauge is mounted on the left side of the windshield. Nice thing about the UG is that it uses the same kind of inverted-T mount as a Satellite Radio, so you can mount it anywhere you can mount a satellite receiver.

I like to be able to see mine as I drive, particularly since my DTE (Distance To Empty) is my default gas gauge.

Mine is basically the same place just a little tighter into the corner.
Fits perfectly and took all of 3-4 minutes to install.

Ok, I'll play. Used someone else's idea on this forum (forget who) and mounted it to the headliner, hid the wires down the a-pillar.

Can see the readout w/o looking down.

Nice idea mounting it up at headliner level but may I suggest mounting it more towards the center near the rear-view mirror? When the sun comes beating in your eyes you will block the scangauge as you drop your sun-visor. Another idea is buy a cheap OEM sunvisor on ebay and cut out a hole where the scangauge is located.

I ended up mounting mine right below my radio inside the metra aftermarket pocket like a few others have done. I'll take some pics of my install in a bit. I love my scangauge II !!!!

Here's my scangauge mounted in my T4R Limited (idea of the mounting location stolen from another member). I'll be swapping out the Sony for a sweet Alpine 137bt A2DP streaming head unit later this weekend. :banana:

Thought about moving it closer to the rear view mirror, but I would have needed a longer cable. Visor is a non issue, since I don't use them-pretty tall sitting down and vision is blocked with them. Plus I look cooler wearing sunglasses.:barf:

Here's mine, haven't seen anyone else post it...

I got the idea from an old boost gauge I had in my Audi years ago...

Simple install, wire goes from the OBD2 port, up behind the stereo, and into the vent where the 2 pieces connect when you remove the radio bezel area. Cord comes out of the vent, and into the rear mount of the scangauge. I used a piece of double sided tape to ensure its adhesion to the vent.

I got a piece of double sided 3M and wedged it between the steering wheel and edge of trim of the gauge cluster... It seems to stay there. I do want to eventually move it to above the middle left air vent like others have. Just need to come up with a bracket first.

how have you been liking the gauge man? When i first got mine i thought there was a way to set up your "miles to empty" this thing is so complex, I get to lazy to dig deep into it lol. Anyway i love mine, its much fun!

THAT makes more sense...I like that spot. That and below the Head Unit...but I may eventually finally retire the old Alpine single DIN for a new Double...losing the slot below.
Haha what a moron. After buying that '00 dash console, I was still dreaming like it would actually work in the '97...switches are TOTALLY different for the mod attempt, need to have a Masters in Electrical Engineering to swap the switches...this wouldn't work on the '97 dash Looks like it's going under the HU!

I've been liking it. I use trans and mpg mostly. I haven't played with it all that much. I got if for mpg estimate and trans temp & alerts. Guess it does what I want it to do. =}

That's where I mounted my SCII. Sent the wire right above the vent through the plastic of the console. And being in the Pac NW myself, we RARELY use the vents. It's usually the defrosters :
