Where do I install a fuel pump Kill Switch?

The easiest way to cut power to the fuel pump is at the fuel tank. Splice a switch into the negative wire before the pump and put the switch anywhere you want. My suggestion is to use a switch designated as a fog light switch on the dash. Hide it in plain sight. But somewhere that you wont accidentally cut power while driving. Better a dead battery than a missing truck.

Put a kill switch on the battery or the ignition (starter). If you use the starter for a kill switch. Everything will work but the starter. A kill switch on the battery will cut power to everything and you won't come out to a drained battery. Kill switch anywhere else will drain the battery if the ignition is left on. If a thief wants your 4runner; a kill switch isn't going to stop them.

Do both :D

BOOM BOOM let's go back to your not stolen 4runner

Another good tip, if no one has already suggested, is putting your transfer case in neutral, locking your steering wheel, and pulling the EFI fuse.

The easiest way to access the fuel pump wire is not the gas tank directly. It is when the wire runs along the driver side door jam.

What do you guys think of rfid theft prevention systems?

While the power to the fuel pump is there within the bundle on driver side sill (blue / orange), the ground is not (black / white), for those who want to go that path. The ground, I believe goes rearward. I think there are two ground spots or locations within the truck, both in the back.

Can I get a PM as well!

Im looking into RFID as well... I have one for my home alarm and they can be had for pretty cheap on Ebay. I've seen a few for mostly for motorcycles, but im sure its pretty much the same.

Brian and Tony, in the posts above told you everything I would tell you. The location of the wire is all you need.

See posts above, wire color and location are listed. This was all I was telling peeps.

Haven't actually done it, but I'd think the quickest way to make a kill switch would be to tap into the starter right at the key ignition.
Obviously wire it somewhere incognito, though.

I have a RFID unit called “turbokill “ in my 17 F250. I highly recommend it, I have no affiliation with the company, but it kept my other F250 from being stolen from Bass Pro Shop parking lot a few years ago.

Did you install the unit yourself and if so, how did it go?

Yes, installed it myself. It’s pretty straight forward. Hardest part was tracking down the wire from the ignition to the starter.. didn’t want to splice the large battery cable size wire, so I was able to locate a smaller wire to splice into. Other than that, it’s a simple install. I am considering putting one on my sons 4runner...
