Sir, I have a 5th gen 4Runner and I have located the bundle of wires that run along the driver side door jam. However, I must assume that Toyota changed the fuel pump wire color as I do not see a blue/orange wire in the bundle. Would you have any idea what the color of the wire would be in the 5th gens?

The easiest way to cut power to the fuel pump is at the fuel tank. Splice a switch into the negative wire before the pump and put the switch anywhere you want. My suggestion is to use a switch designated as a fog light switch on the dash. Hide it in plain sight. But somewhere that you wont accidentally cut power while driving. Better a dead battery than a missing truck.

A few feet of similar primary wire and a switch that handles 20 amps. That's it. Hell put in 2 while you're at it. No mercy for thieves or bots.

my first 4runner I did the kill switch..made me feel good when I lived in the lower 48.....2nd one (up here).i was not worried as it was a beater and I used the "club" on the wheel...this current one however is more special to me...i still use the club when parked in the city overnight ( which is very very very rare) as I think a bad guy might think twice...thinking and looking in window...oh another hassle...but if im worried or leaving for long or real remote location than I pull the relay and carry with me...I also have a spare in the rig...hidden...in case I lose or damage the one I pulled.
but for most of you guys... a simple rocker switch is easy

No he’s in Alaska so he sets the ac to max and pulls the relay for the climate controls, if it ever gets stolen it will be parked a mile down the road with a tweaker frozen to death
I have pulled the EFI but pulling the starter relay will also do the job.
however in theory pulling the EFI the car than has to relearn and remap your driving style in the computer. Supposedly same thing when you disconnect your battery for more than a half hour. I have never seen that as an issue.
also, supposedly the tail relay and efi relay are same ( can be swapped) i have never tried but thought if I ever pull the efi and loose it and dont have my hidden spare I can just pull the tail relay and put it in the efi slot to get me home
i will say that after the inital job of putting in a kill switch, that turning it on and off is a lot easier

Pretty sure it won't fire at all. Gonna do it next week. Finally decided where to hide the switch.
Not a kill switch, but effectively the same thing. When I unplugged my fuel pump and then started the engine to depressurize the fuel system before replacing my fuel filter, there was enough fuel for it to try to fire briefly and then it was done before the engine even caught.
