where is the OEM 400w inverter located?

Is it close to the outlet? also does anyone know what GA wire they ran? im guessing as little as possible. I have a nice Xantrex sine wave I would love to swap out the toyota one. I wish auto makers would just run some 2ga wire to the rear of all vehicles :loco::dammit:

Probably on top of the passenger side wheel well. That's where mine is in the 2012 TE. You'll have to "break" the tray loose in order to get at it without removing all the interior panels back there.

Wire gauge will most likely not meet your needs. I'd run a separate wire from the battery with fuse. The Painless Fuse box is a great solution for adding accessories. You have a choice between Ignition-Controlled, or Always-Hot.

I have a 2014 SR5, and my 120V outlet in the cargo area is not working. I checked the fuse in the engine compartment (#19, labeled 400W INV, 80A fuse), and it's good. I'm wondering if the inverter is bad. Any guidance you might have is greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the "On-Off switch" on the driver-side instrument panel? I'd check to be sure it's operational, ...B-4... I'd go nuts looking for a problem within the wiring! IJS! 'Best to you',
