Hey guys,
Time for me to get a new 4Runner (love my '95 though). So far, I can't understand why I'm not really seeing the dealers looking to deal on the 2010's. Are the 2011's not physically arriving on their lots yet?
Scenario A:
I live in Reno, but I emailed LHM Toyota (Utah,9 hours drive each way) about a 2010 Trail (with KDSS) they have (because I want silver). The initial reply email said the price was $34,627. When I emailed one question back he said they made a mistake and the price is really $35,327. Really? I haven't even walked in the door and I'm getting this bull****? I had an awesome internet car buying experience when I picked up my last car, but this experience is ridiculous already. I thought $34,627 was a good enough deal to make it worth the trouble. The $35,327 seems ridiculous (putting aside for a second how smarmy it is to change the price). What do you guys think about this price? I expect a better deal off of last year's model with all the PR trouble that Toyota is having right now and the fact that this is a year old (depreciation, etc).
Scenario B:
Although I REALLY, REALLY want a Trail, the 2010's are more difficult to find. I'm starting to consider a 2011 SR5. I've read up on some of you guys modding the SR5 bumper, wheel wells, etc to get that Trail look...got me thinking. Anyway, I'm also not seeing the discount on the 2010 SR5's that I would expect. Am I looking a little too early? Will they be ready to deal in another month? Case in point, on cars.com, I can see Reno Toyota listings for a 2010 Silver SR5 and a 2011 Silver SR5, but the prices are 2010:$36,514 and 2011:$35,540. WTF?
So, what do you guys think? Wait another month or two so these guys get more pressure from the 2011's? Is the 2010 Trail at $35,327 a good deal or is my gut instinct correct that it's not good enough?
