Which double din do you use/like?

So this is my first vehicle that I can outfit with a full double din stereo (I'm used to the stupid din and a half Chrysler came up with), pretty stoked about all the options out there.

I've been a Pioneer user for years but I feel like their quality has fallen off dramatically and their "super tuner" get's awful reception.

So I'm looking for tips and units people have and enjoy. The biggest issue I've read about thus far is the functionality of the touch screens on the units.

The features I'm looking for are pretty standard: Blu tooth w/ audio stream, video playing (not DVD but ipod), ipod/iphone compatible, XM ready, remote.

I don't need nav, my garmin works fine. And I'm not putting a giant stereo in it so I don't need a dozen pre-outs.

I love having a nav unit in mine - the Kenwood DNX-9960 which uses Garmin for navigation. They've made HUGE advances in their newer headunits. If I had it to do over though, I think I would go with a carputer set-up. You can do just about anything with them now, and they can be extremely compact.

My second choice would be a single Din unit such as the Kenwood KIV-BT901, or two units together such as the Pioneer DEH-X8500BH with the CDX-PD6.

Did any of you do the install yourself? I've done simple single din installs in all my previous rigs. But never anything with blue tooth, or on a toyota, especially with stock components up front.

I could rip the entire dash out on my grand cherokee in minutes I'd done it so many times but haven't tackled it on the 4runner yet.
 
I've always loved kenwood. Never had an issue in 5 years with the same unit. Install's are a breeze with wiring harnesses. Should take you 45 minutes for your first time. If you need help, PM me and I can walk you through it.

Bluetooth setup is a breeze. Theres nothing extra you need to do except route the microphone to a good spot.. i just put it through the ashtray compartment and stuck it near my radio face..

Or run it under your dash over to your driver side then up your a-pillar and you can mount it on your sun visor. Just my opinion though.
 
Can't make up my mind but I'm thinking pretty hard about this one

Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com

I like the dual USB input as well as SD card slot. I know I can stream from a phone easily but I like to charge at the same time and this frees up power outlets for CB, Garmin and my fuzz buster =)

Also one of the only ones I've found with a detachable face. I've had too many rigs busted into to leave a DVD deck sitting around for the taking.

It's biggest weakness is low RMS output at 14, while most of the competition is around 20+.
