Which Gen. Is the Best Looking

I have to say even though I like my 4th Gen Sport looks, I love how a 3rd Gen Sport looks even stock(especially stock if Black:dancin. So for my order I would have to go with(a little more broken down):

1. 3rd Gen Sport
2. 4th Gen Sport
3. 5th Gen
4. 3rd Gen
5. 1st Gen
6. 2nd Gen

The sport editions were not included cuz if I am not mistaken they started producing those with the 3rd generation so It wouldnt be a fair comparison with the first 2 gen. I think the 2010 TE is hot!...but just wanted to compare the basic models/designs.

based on exterior looks:

1 - 3rd Gen sport (gotta love the hood scoop)
2 - 4th Gen Limited/Sport
3 - all others generally the same with 1st gen last on the list

However, I purchased my 4th gen because my 02 Tacoma had the same engine as the later 3rd gen Runners and it just wasn't enough power for towing, Colorado passes, etc. Also, I like my Limited's interior too much to purchase a 3rd gen. Therefore, I purchased a 4th gen when I could have found a good deal on a nice 3rd gen.

3rd, hands down.
But, the 3rd gen V6 is anemic at best, and I would much rather have the 4th gen V6.

Although all are nice in one way or the other the newer look of the 4th gen is nice while the 1st - 3rd gen held a more IMO rugged look. The 5th gen looked nice in Baja trim at the LA Auto show but I don't know about this one. The shear size alone is kinda irritating, still looks decent though! Can't wait to see what people do to them!

I agree with the poll so far, 3rd generation is the best looking. I am a bit surprised that the 2nd generation model is so low. Maybe because we have less 2nd gen. owners. I like the way it matured over the 1st gen. I think smoe Chinese company is still making a SUV based on the second gen.

We have to get use to the 5th gen., but for now 3rd gen. is the king. I think of it as a 4/5th sized Land Crusier, that was back when Land Crusiers were good looking.

3rd - looked at home on the street and off road
1st - a classic and reminds me of my HS school days when it was new
5th - Better looking than the 4th but needs a few more 4th gen options
4th - great V6 and V8 but a bit pudgy looking
2nd - 3rd gen improved on everything from this gen

The 3rd is the most appealing just straight out of the factory. 1st gen is awesome as long as they have 31's otherwise they look weak with the 28's. The 5th gen trail is really nice and 2nd gens are well 2nd gens. 4th gens just aren't that great out of the factory.

I'm def a huge 3rd gen fan, I think the 5ths look more like the 3rds.

I don't think you'd buy a certain Generation 4runner if you didn't like how it looked..you're more than likely to modify it based on your taste, gonna drive it and see it everyday, so it's very much a question of personal discretion and preference.

Would I be prejudiced if I said 3rd Gen looks the best just because I own one........I think so!
