white emanating light

Any one know what the white LED coming from the overhead console is? It's in a little squarish hole between the two cabin lights. I thought it was a light sensor at first, but I think it just shines down on the shifter so you can see it at night.

Is this all it's for?

Hopefully it wasn't a near death experience where people experience seeing a tunnel with a white light (not unlike an LED) at the end.

Yes. Lexus/Toyota does white, Honda/Acura blue, Audi is red if my memory is right. Enjoy the high end features!
