Damn. Any ideas on other cheap mods for my 2000 4runner?

Don't think so much about "mods" as "ways to improve" the vehicle. You'll be happier with a better working vehicle than a poor working one with mods that don't help.
Have you looked into the intake silencer removal, mod? It doesn't have the functional detriments of the deckplate, but give louder sound, maybe helps performance a little bit. Search it here or google it and you will find some threads about it.

i've only glanced at some of the post on thread but wanted to state my opinion. I see your wanting cheap so if thats the case and you want the little extra umph and noise, do the declplate mod.
If you want to dump the cash on a CAI go with Airraid, TRD, or Volant. They are all an enclosed box kinda like OEM. I have the Volant with the 100k mile filter and its been great! my TB is always clean and i never have to oil the filter. Im pretty positive it gives extra performance too i mean i get an average of 22mpg's on the hwy, and not sure where the power is at but im pretty sure i got a little extra
the faults that i see with the deckplate mod is the hole is in the front and there is no opening or anything that can suck the good air in to gain the potential performance. You'll notice the air comes in from the side on your stock box.
The 2 intakes i mentioned above both have the opening on the side accessing the cool fresh air alot easier. As for the K&N.. yeah i dont want to start a debate but this but there is a huge opening on the top that allows all the hot engine air you want. (not a good thing) not to mention the oil problems lol

what is the ISR mod?.. ive searched it but cant find it...intake sound resonator mod?.... and if it is that, can i just simply go to the hardware store and get caps to cap off the holes when i take off the resonators?.. oh i have a 99 4runner sr5 4x4 v6 3.4L.. and would menards or home depot have a deckplate?... ive searched their website and it comes up with "no results" for both sites... help greatly appreciated!
