Who has done a 1/2" body lift

Should go right on with no issues or adjustments needed, but just wanted to see who had done one... Thinking about it plus a few more tricks to clear a bit more tire :loco: If so, were you able to keep all the stock bolts?

wraith did a small body lift. Don't remember how much.

I think that was 1 or 2". 1/2" should be the easy button with 0 modifications required... just thought maybe someone with a 5th gen may have tried it. I know lots of FJs have. I'm generally not a fan of them, but a small one should be tolerable.

I did it on my 2013 FJ which should be pretty similar. I was able to retain all of the stock bolts, although the rear bolts barely worked. Been very happy with it so far.

I contemplated doing a 1/2" body lift just for the front. Are you trying to go bigger in tire size?

How would you lift only the front? Or do you mean primarily to have the front lifted some? I didn't know there was a 1/2 inch body lift available.

I am not too sure either. I saw some pictures of the older gens with just a 1/2" body lift front only. Thought that it could be achieved with a 5th gen as well.

I would think you would want it even all the way around... seems like it might put some awkward stress on the body to only do it up front...

I want to go from a 34.1" 305 to a 34.7" 315. I think the small body lift would probably allow me to squeeze them in with no other changes.

There is a guy that makes 1/2 body lifts for the 4runners and FJs. It is nothing more than some UHMW pucks cut to size... With such a small amount of change you should be able to make all the stock bolts work.

As long as you have full thread engagement and there is no induced bending moment created you should be fine. CG will go up a bit though. Probably not enough to notice unless you are going off camber then you'll notice lol.

HODOR Build

I read lipek's SSO rear bumper install a few weeks ago and remember him adding the added the 1/2 inch body lift. I think the same guy that sells the body lift also helped him with the bumper install.

I have a 1" body lift on mine from Fat Pats, installation was a pain cuz i already have a 3" so getting a jack tall enough to lift the 4runner was a challenge. You will need to remove the front bumper, take out the washer reservoir so you can reach the right front body mount. Just a precaution, there is no steering column extender so dont extend your steering wheel out towards you, keep it in the middle position.

I helped my son do a 1" on his 4th Gen. It took about an hour. The kit came with new bolts, but only needed them on the rear.

I'm planning to go to 34's (285/75) when I need new tires and will be doing the same thing to mine, along with the BMC.

also when you lift it 1" you will need to remove the little metal bushings in the fan shroud cuz the tip of your fan blades will hit it. Im waiting to get 35s but currently on 33s
