Who has the worst mpg's out there??

Usually if you replace your fuel air sensor and your 02 sensor and clean the mass air flow it will make a pretty big difference and it only takes like 20 minutes. If you have torque pro and a Bluetooth scanner you can test and see if the sensors are still operating withing factory spec

2002 Sport here and I decided to calculate my mileage for the first time today. I've owned the rig for about a month now.

Ended up doing 288.7 miles @ 17.4 MPG...which surprised me after hearing about the terrible mileage I could expect. Not that the number is fantastic mind you, our Honda Odyssey can do nearly 30 MPG if we have good weather and a long stretch to let cruise control do all the work.

So far, most of my driving has been 10-15 mile trips on roads that let me do 40-50 MPH while hitting a stoplight or two, a handful four-way stops and the occasional round-a-bout.

I won't track every tank, but I will try to gauge some highway mileage later this summer.

Armored double cab taco, 4x4, at, 4.10s and 35's. 3.4 supercharged all stock otherwise gets a very consistent 13.

Nearly stock 4x4 2.7 with 3" of lift and multiple tire setups will get between 10-12 mpg depending how I drive.

I don't drive like a jackass, don't speed, just basically cruising back roads at 55ish most of the time. I just don't believe anyone who claims 17+ on a built rig, I've had a lot of these trucks, only one that would do that much was 2wd, 2.7 5 speed, 3.73s and 235/75r15. Hypermiled to 23 mpg once, but typically did around 17.

Patrick, thanks for chiming-in. I did no hand calculations or as noted above, I never configured the UG beyond the initial set-up... I never did so before the AFR sensor replacement too, or after. I wouldn't think I'd need to do so now when I didn't before, but I might be mistaken; and why I ask here... Thanks again.

Your welcome Tony. I went through the whole 9 yards of calibrating mine. Calibrating the distance, calibrating the fuel economy over the course of 4 tanks, etc. There is an anomaly that I haven't taken the time to figure out yet. After calibrating for distance traveled it corrected the mph of the gauge to within 1 mph at highway speeds (cluster shows 70 and gauge shows 71) but my trip mileage on the gauge will be about 4% higher than the cluster trip mileage. Kinda strange and probably skewing my mpg's on the gauge slightly higher than reality. If I find time I'll recalibrate the distance and mpg's again. If you decide to calibrate yours it is recommended to calibrate distance before mpg's.

Edit: I might try using a gps app to calibrate distance traveled which changes the mph on the gauge. The recommended way in the instructions is to use a fairly straight highway, start at a mile marker and then drive to another mile marker x miles down the road and stop at it. It will ask how many miles you went and then adjust accordingly.

I get about 16 on a normal tank, and 18 if there’s a longer trip mixed in there like 2.5 hours round trip. This is with a 5 speed, 33s, and manual hubs.

I got 20 on an 8 hour trip but that was with the auto trans and no locking hubs
