Driving through Silverthorne, CO this Memorial Day and spotted this rig with a t4r sticker on it. Girlfriend likes the white so she was admiring it :zoom:

There's a dedicated "spotted thread" both in 5th gen and General subforums. Might find the owner there... but probably not...

Looks like a pretty standard white TRD OR with BFG's, maybe a lift??, TRD Wheels, some Treds and a bike rack. Doesn't look like anything to get too excited about...

Spotted is for letting people know you saw a TRD Pro, anything else and you gotta start your own thread. :yield:

My girlfriend doesn’t know what BFG’s and TRD wheels are... she just liked the general look and color. Figured I would throw some props to someone who obviously takes pride in (and spent time/money on) their rig, but I guess we can shit on it too if you want.

Good for her. You're the one who posted it. I suppose every modded 5th gen 4Runner spotted on the road deserves a new thread. As others have pointed out there's already a thread for that...

Sure do love this tight knit community we got here eh? lets hang this n00b for making an additional thread by accident.....

No ones shitting on the rig, just your inability to post in the appropriate section.

Wow you guys are a trip. Joined last year and now you run this place? If this is where you have to come to feel important, I feel bad for you.

FYI, I’ll still be posting whatever I want whenever I want. Feel free not to read it.

Right! Lol or any subReddit, do something wonky and they downvote the sh!t out of you in no time.

Regardless, netiquette has pretty much gone out the door in the last decade. People don’t care, they just do whatever they want, whenever they want, anytime they want. That is just the way it seems now. Their was a guy in other thread just the other day that asked the exact same question that the OP answered literally two posts before on the same page. I don’t think this thread rates anywhere near that level.

Put up a new post on light bulbs and you''ll be in like flint. Ask a question and it's like a dildo tractor beam, they'll show up in seconds.:lasercannon:

I saw the same truck on the Fremont Pass coming from Leadville to Copper this morning. I thought it was a cop from a distance.

Looks good! No idea why people are being such D bags about your post.

I would guess to say because there are numerous threads that are more appropriate to post this question in. Imagine if everyone in this thread, http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/58650-5th-gen-spotted-thread.html , started a new thread every time. There would be another 1000 threads scattered throughout this sub. You keep it in one place it is easy to find for those that are curious/interested in the subject. Just my 2 cents. Most people have a tendency to lean towards order rather than chaos

I understand but the OP didn’t violate any forum rules and he was met with a barrage of rude replies. This sort of behavior makes lurking people not want to participate.

OP also stated the threads purpose clearly in the title so it’s not like he baited anyone into reading it.

Hey! I like new duplicate threads... How else would I get to see people post 80 times on how there is another thread for it? It helps keep the thread alive on the front page so I can see all the new same comments. I'd really like to see all the forums change their name's to There'sAThreadForThat(insertvehicle).com :behindsofa:

He kind of did, unknowingly. Most people that post similar threads are posting to something a bit more... outrageous than simply a tastefully upgraded truck, so people are use to that.

You’re not wrong, no forum rules broken. An extreme example is like talking 5th gen in the 3rd gen or classic subs, not a rule but you don’t commonly do it, people that do often note they aren’t supposed too but state a specific reason why they did, else they know they will get a roll. Not sticking up for grumpiness, just saying.

It is all a special technique adopted to get spammers to post in particular threads ;): :D

See above, it’s working :high5:

1 DON't make new threads
2 DON't revive old threads
3 DO use horrible search engine to look up older threads but make sure not to post anything bc will revive
