Why doesn’t Discount Tire like the new Falken Wildpeaks?

I’ve seen nothing but great reviews online but then Discount tries to steer you away and say they wear bad and get loud over time. I’ve seen no reports of this on the forums or even in Discount’s comment section. What gives?

That’s strange. They talked me into them over the Duratracs, which they would’ve made more money on. Now, why Tire Rack won’t carry the Wildpeak AT3w is beyond me.

Depends on the Discount. I love mine them. Ignore them.

My guess would be they are thinking of the older Wildpeak tread pattern. Older tread pattern did have more of those reviews.

Went to a coffee/truck meet recently at ARB and pretty only saw one set of KO2s and like 5 sets of the Falkens

I'm leaning towards getting a set of these in the new year. What size are you guys running? I'm thinking of going with 265/65 R18s, one size up from my 60 standards. I have a 2.5in Front/1.5in rear lift, and I've measured it looks like I have lots of room.

How do they handle in the wet? My main concern with BFGs were that they don't handle the wet so well. I'll be doing some snow driving but largely on road and will see wet highways.

I just got mine installed 2 weeks ago. P285/70/17 love it so far. They are not extremely quite but I can hear them. Come from KO2 265.

I reviewed my in the 4th gen forum and only gave them 2.5/5 stars. I have 265/70/17 P's. The first few weeks, loved them, but after 5 months, I probably won't buy them again. Quite for an AT tread in a straight line, but these things howl as soon as you turn the wheel. They are wearing very fast. Lateral traction is disappointing, they drift big time with just the slightest hint of 'spirited' driving.
What I do like about them is the price, the looks and the straight line traction offroad.

I just pulled the trigger on these and am getting installed this week. My E Load G2s are just too stiff and loud.

I thought about getting these back in 2016. Instead I went with 265 KO2's on my 3rd gen Tacoma and I have a set of 285 KO2's on my '17 4Runner. Both sets have ~20,000 miles on them and look brand new. This past week I had a chance to get the KO2's in some snow and ice. They performed very well. Off road, the KO2's are great in mud and the Load E helps provide confidence in the rocks. I doubt any other tire could check all the boxes the KO2's check. My next set of tires will be KO2's.

Price wise, I printed off my invoice from Costco and had Discount tire price match. I paid ~$1,100 for 4 285/70r17 KO2's mounted, balanced, and road hazard. I think that is well worth it.
