Will I Even See Gain?

I don't understand why they didn't incorporate an inspection window in the lid or sides. If I were you I'd get some plexi-glass and cut & drill to match the current lid. Either that or cut a square out of the lid or side of the box and either recess or surface mount an inspection window on it. If surface mounted I'd drill and mount bolts in the corners and seal all the edges. I dunno how easy those current bolts are to take in and out but just seems dumb you have to take it off every time to inspect the filter.

Haha, they did. I figured someone would mention it. I put that on almost last. I will post up a picture of this thing all done today. But thanks for the comment! I almost forgot about it and when I stumbled upon it, I wondered what it was. I looked at the installation page (Which is horrible), and it wasn't on there.

So I assumed the location for it was where the tube entered the box. Thanks!

Yup that's where it goes. I would've thought that with the price being so high the instructions would've been alot more useful, but at least you were able to figure it out as well.

Hopefully they sent you the "trimming" that goes around the edges of the box where the intake tube goes in.. Its like a thin rubber or plastic tubing that seals the edges where the tube enters.

But it looks good!

[MENTION=58830]ARKRWLR[/MENTION]: The screws are really easy to take off. Its just 5 phillips head screws. They all have a rubber gasket so you can almost bare hand them off. But with seeing the filter, that would be cool to use plexiglass for a lid. I will consider taking that on.

I dig it! It looks like Volant has changed up the look of the box lid, I like the look of yours better than mine (just says "Volant"). And I have to agree, the screws are very easy to remove/install. I just use my pocket knife as a flat head screw driver to take them out.

On a side note... IDK when/how this happened but it looks like a small amount of water had gotten into my box a while back because when I last opened the lid I could see where some water had collected at the bottom corner of the box and had eventually evaporated. To fix this I used a very small drill bit and put a hole at the lowest point where the water looked to have collected so next time I get water in there it can now drain out easily.

Only good CAI is the snorkle, it added about 5 pony at high rpm

I did the deckplate mod and when my wife wen to get the damn thing smogged (CA) they took her money and it passed but would not sign off because it was not stock. aggghhh!

Anyone have an old setup laying around?

The box says you get 38 HP gain. That's 20% from the 'magic box', so let us know if you really do. That puts you close to the power gain from a TRD supercharger. You should do the 1/4 mile a couple of seconds faster! :thumb:
