Will the car start w/o a door panel on?

I broke some snaps/clips on my door panel so I was gonna run to the store and buy some new ones and now my car won't start. I get rapid fire clicking when I push the start button. Is it b/c my door panel is not on or is do I now have another problem?

Probably a low battery, charge it up and try again.

I doubt it's the case.

I drove around without the radio, instrument cluster, and hhvac unit out of the car and everything was fine. Of course I couldn't operate the AC or see how fast I was going and fuel guage but it was only for a day.

Nothing on that door panel to prevent it from starting.
As stated, check the battery.
