will these wheels fit right? Cragar Soft 8

I'm really worried about the back spacing being 4.5" is that what we need? the wheel is the Cragar Soft 8.. can i still run a 285 tire without rubbing? (I know.. cut/grind down the body mounts and bang out and move forward the fender liner).. If anyone is using this wheel can you post them .. I'm planning to do this and a Daystar 2.5" spacer lift by the end of december. here's a link to the site and I'll post a pic. Thanks Guys!! oh and from my research it seems I'll be fine keeping the XREAS on there? Don't worry, in a yr or 2 I'll put on an actual suspension..

Those wheels will fit fine. You can run 285/70s with them.

No need for a diff drop at 2.5"

I believe stock TE/SR5 wheels are 0mm offset. They don't protrude - I needed spacers for that look.

I just ordered a set of Unique 297's, which are identical to the Cragar Soft 8's. I ordered 17x8, 6-5.5, and I am having them do a special build with 4" of Backspacing. I ran 16x8's with 4" BS on my 3rd Gen and I loved them. There were no Caliper rubbing issues on the 3rd Gen and I am hoping the same goes for the 5th Gen.

Personally, I like the tires to sit a little further out than the stock wheels, hence the reason I am having them built with 4" BS.

You might run into issues running those wheels. The problem isn't the offset or backpacking of the wheel, which looks fine...On paper. The problem will be the calipers hitting the backside of the wheel. The calipers are much, much bigger on the newer gens (2010 on) that's why you can't run 16's vs older gens.

If they do fit, awesome, but I highly doubt it. At least not without 1 1/4" wheel adaptors.

I understand needing larger diameter wheels for larger calipers, but I can not imagine the calipers stick out much further than the hub face compared to the 3rg Gens. This is where you run into clearence issues. I run US Wheels Black Rock Crawlers on my 98 Tacoma and they had rubbing issues. It is the way the holes are pressed into the wheel. However, when I put the Unique 297's on my 3rg Gen., there was no issue at all. These wheels are made differently, which is why I have hope they will work. When they come in, I will post up the results.

Yea, I am familiar with the issues. Toyotas have always had issues with certain steel wheel designs. But, my logic is based on the fact the design of these particular steel wheels worked flawlessly with my 3rd Gen. So, there is a chance they are designed in a way that will not interfere with the caliper.

I will keep my fingers crossed. Worst case scenario, I will get wheel spacers or pick new wheels.

My response was directed more to the OP, but will work in your case as well. Just because a wheel has the right specs, doesn't necessarily mean it will actually fit.
