Will this OEM trailer hitch fit a 2012

PT228-89340 I am getting conflicting info on the net. One site says its for a 2001-2004 and one claims it will fit a 2013. Thanks for your help do not want to waste money.

I was looking to replace my factory hitch as the actual hitch depth was too shallow (distance from end of the hitch to the locking pin) compared to my previous truck (or my Dad's truck, or friend's truck, etc.). I couldn't find any aftermarket hitch made for the late model 4Runners as they come stock with one from the dealer. What I ended up doing was having my local fabrication shop cut and weld on an 1.25" extension to the factory hitch to get the depth back to what I wanted. Now when I put my bike rack on the 4Runner it locks down solid with no side to side wobble.

Here is the link, this is for the tow assembly. This is oem just a different part # then for the 2012

Looks like the same as came with my 4th Gen. Honestly, you are paying a premium for the Toyota name on it. These are available all over for much less. But yes, it will fit as I kept mine and use it on my 5th Gen.
