Will this woofer fit under the seat?

I'm trying to find out if this woofer will fit under the front seat of a 4th gen. before I buy it off E-bay. It looks I might need to remove the seat to get it in there.

I think it''ll fit. Take a look at the pictures of my amp in the link "Upgraded Sound System" and you'll get an idea of the clearance.

I thought a member on the board just tried to fit that under the front seats and it wouldn't fit. Do a search because I'm pretty certain there was a thread on this and also very recently.

I did see where someone said it would not fit, but I asked what year & model of 4Runner they I go no reply. I also don't know if they just tried to slip it under there, or actually disconnected the seat to try.

Thai said it would fit, but I don't know if he has actually confirmed this.

even when installing my amp, the guys who did it had to take out the seat. otherwise, i can't imagine how they'd be able to screw it down.

I was able to screw my amp down relatively easily without removing the seat. However i doubt that sub would easily go in w/o taking it out.

do I have to disconnect one of the other speakers to use those leads to connect it?

You should be able to tap in, maintaining all of your existing channels.

That's great! Think I'll get one of these Clarions - they seem to have decent reviews. I guess the most involved thing will be picking up power from my head units accessory wire - not looking forward to taking that consule & dash apart!

So where can I tap into the speaker leads for this woofer? Are the ones to the rear door speakers in the door sill?

Which one did you try - the Clarion or the Kenwood?

I am currently looking into a setup that uses the scion HU.

It may come down to Infinitiy Speakers and an amp. (No sub in the back cause it takes up to much space and can get stolen pretty easily)

Great! Cuz I'm hoping the more slender Clarion will fit! It's over an inch less than the Kenwood thickness.
