I took me much longer. I had to do it in two evenings. I must have installed my bumper 4 times to get the measurements right. I didn't know that mine would fit under the bumper until last night.

Your bumper is only held in with 2 bolts. You need to add some more bracing. Vibration and time will cause your bumper to tilt and fall forward...

dont bother mounting to that plate thats tack welded to the frame.

Exactly!!! I cut those end caps off and welded new metal there all the way around. If you bolted anything to those plates then I wouldn't use the winch at all.

UPDATE, Used my winch a few weekends ago to clear some trees from a path from straight ahead, and the while strapped to the tree it snapped it in half, probably been down for about a year or so and it was about 6" in diameter, so pretty good,

It looks pretty clean with the factory bumper. Every once in a while I miss the look of mine before I tore off my $hitty bumper.
I wouldn't want to have to pull to hard on that. The factory frame is pretty flimsy at best. There's no cross brace up front. That's what normally gets welded in and you winch bumper would mount to that. And it's sitting very low, not good for an approach angle. Just my $0.02. It's definitely better than no winch at all. Good job man.

Gotta bring this thread back to life...

Not done yet but here is my start.
Started with stock - added Badland winch plate. Cut tabs and mounted with 4 grade 8 bolts. Tomorrow I'm welding the end caps and a 90 degree to the plate. Also trying to fit the Piaa's. This took me 4 slow hours and I feel like I should be done. Enjoy
