I'm in the market for a winch as well, which I've narrowed down:
Smittybilt XRC Gen3 9.5K Comp Series Winch with Synthetic Cable - 98695 | 4wheelparts.com
I don't see the reason to have a 12k winch and this is an affordable option.

You may already be aware, If your Demello has its mounting point inside of the bumper, there is limited space allowed for the winch, you may have to factor that into your decision. My 5th gens Shrockworks would fit a low profile Warn or Ramsey, but the Superwinch I bought for several hundred less (which have gone way up in price since then), had the solenoid located on top like you see on most Jeep winches that are located on top of their bumper. I had to relocate the solenoid to a different location. More trouble than its worth for most people. But basically check the measurements of the mounting pad of your bumper and go from there. Maybe see if Demello has an idea for a cheaper option low profile model. I went with a 9500lb, but for my heavy rig, that might not be enough in extreme situations. Good luck!

I would recommend a warn M series for durability. The M8000 has a removable solenoid pack which can be moved anywhere. The M8000 is affordable and beefy.
Avoid the warn VR series which is their cheap entry level winches that compare to your local hardware store brands.
You get what you pay for, remember that.
Winch line:
Synthetic will be light but can't take the abuse of a steel cable. If you plan on working with logs or long angled pulls then wire cable can't be beat.
For the rare winching needed a synthetic line is safer and lighter. I've seen many a synthetic line snap but I've never seen a cable snap.

the m8000 are legendary. not as easy to find ive noticed though...
id run a warn vr series but do believe the m8000 is really kickass and enough for our 4runners. they say a lot of people overdo it with lb rating with winches and 8-9.5k will work great. the smitty 9.5 has good reviews in the real world, not so much on large review samples on amazon for example.
i might run the 9.5 smitty, you could buy two of them for the cost of 8k vr warn ...one thing that has me going back to idea of warn is that for a winch plate application it isnt something id want to have to drop bumper and reinstall due to reliability.
The smittybilt X2O 10/12k winches fit perfectly in that bumper. The control box mounts to the passenger side and can turn downward to allow you to plug in the controller while not being exposed to rocks and trees. I have the same bumper setup you do and this winch works great.

I have the Gen 2 Smittybilt XRC 9500 with the steel cable...my friend just picked one up as well. Seems to be one of the most affordable winches you can get, but that's all I had room for in my budget.
As noted, make sure you have the space to accommodate the winch and control box; look at the dimensions. I have a CBI bumper, my friend has a Relentless Fab one, and the winch fits fine in both of them. I've used mine a few times so the cost has already been justified.
My control box is mounted so that I plug in the controller through the passenger side hi-lift jack access hole (seen in the closeup). My advice is to also get a few shackles, a tree strap, and a snatch block at the minimum to go along with the winch, and watch some instructional videos. Ronny Dahl has some good advice on YouTube.

Ive heard of people buying a "cheap" winch, (smittybult) because they only wheel a few times a year, but when they needed it, it didnt work....
A winch could save your rig or someone else's rig, save a get a quaility winch, Warn or ComeUp just my .02
