Window not rolling up properly

My rear passenger side window does not go up smoothly. It makes a grinding noise along the way. If I use the Auto Up feature, it reaches the top and then retracts down. In order to roll it up, I have to hold the window switch up.

The only thing I can think may have caused this, is my 4 year old nephew kicked the window (from the inside) during a temper tantrum last week :doh:

Anyone know what could have been damaged?

might not be damages... .clean the window channel out real well. Mine did the same thing until I did that

Cleaning it is a good place to start. The other thing I would do is take a good look at the rubber/felt run channel & make sure that the window hasn't jumped out and is running on the metal instead (pretty common issue). It can also do this on the section of felt that is inside the door so if it sounds bad once it's down in that area you would have to remove the inner door panel & get it back in the track. If your not comfortable taking off the inner door panel I would suggest taking it to a body shop & not the dealer. It's the same work obviously but a dealer charges $100+ per hour and a body shop charges $42 per hour (in the north Ga. area that is). Hopefully this helps.
