Window Tinting

I just got my front two done with 20%, and I have to say that it is at least 4-5% darker than the backs. It looked like it matched holding up the film but once installed it is very obvious.

I am now thinking about tinting over the backs, because it is driving me nuts to have the front darker than the back. What do you guys think? What have other people put over the rear tint, and what looks good?

i paid 250 for all windows and a windshield stripe all at 5%...or limo tint for those unknowledgeable.. i live in arizona so it makes a huge difference

If it helps anyone, here is a pic of my 08 with 20%. It was a little darker in front. Im gonna just leave the 3rd gen alone. Lol

how much should i expect to pay for 5% tints on all rear windows and 20-30%s on the driver, passenger, and windshield?

In Jan 2009 I paid $160.00 for 20% all windows and a 10 % strip on the windshield.

I got a ticker for the 20% on the two front windows and had to take it off. I went back and got 29% on the two front windows. That cost me $55.00. All this was done in Montgomery, AL.

I just did 20% on the fronts with a brow across the front for $85. Not as good as some, but it's very difficult to get anything done at the shops around here if it's close to the legal limit. A couple shops wouldn't do 20%, so I had to go with the one that would (lifetime warranty as well). It is slightly darker than the rears, but not by much. It's hardly noticeable. From the inside, there is a difference in color, more of a greenish/gray look on the fronts.

Here's my '07 when I had 20% on the front and 20% over the factory tint as well. It didn't match because the backs ended up being like limo tint, but I loved the privacy. I paid $125 for the entire tint job. I couldn't ever find anyone to inspect it with the fronts so dark, so I ended up changing them to 35%.

Tint

Paid $70 for mine and he did them in 30 mins at Tint Man in Monroe Connecticut. came with a lifetime warranty. I did 20% on the front two windows and im considering tinting the back windows more so that the front ones don't look darker than the back ones when its really sunny out.<a href="http://s967.photobucket.com/albums/ae156/lennythebamf/?action=view&current=IMG_8756.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae156/lennythebamf/IMG_8756.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Is the factory tint "tint"? You know with all the UV blocking. Or is it just "privacy" tint. Where it just blocks the light but not the heat.

Would it be beneficial to re-tint the backs? I can only legally do 50% here, so I'm thinking I'd do that all around.

anyone got pics of 50% tint?.. here in ohio 50% is the limit.

im sure someone has 50% tint somewhere. not sure if its on the forum or not. 50% to me just doesn't seem worth it. legal limit in Connecticut is 35% on the front windows and even that is practically pointless. i can only imagine how barely noticeable 50% would be.

I'm by no means discouraging it but definitely see what it looks like before putting down the money to do such a mod.

According to the brochure, the 4th gen does have "UV protection" on the glass.
