Window Visors

I put the Weathertech in channels on mine a few weeks ago. Initially my auto close windows didn't want to override the finger safety, so I had to run them up several times before they closed completely. But having left them closed overnight, the visors seated up, and all seems to be working fine since. These are quieter when cracked open than the tape on style I had on my Tundra. But they do hug a little closer to the window also.
 
Been using Wade on 2 different vehicles for years now. They are a little thinner then the weathertechs but so far no issues and fit good. The half the price of of weathertechs (got them for $55 on ebay) helps, lol :rockon:
 
i had thought about getting the AVS slim profile ones, but since i stopped smoking, i really dont need them and i usually dont drive with the windows down.

i even decided not to even get the bug shield since i bought the OEM film protection.

i like the clean looks without them, but still in the air about getting the vent visors for summertime to let out the hot interior air and i dont like in channel, only stick on's :)
 
I just installed weathertech in channels on my 2014 trail edition. I was concerned about the "jam" function of the windows after reading here others had some problems. I did NOT have any problems after installing them and auto up works fine.
 
Was debating between the weathertech and the AVS seamless but went ahead and order the latter this morning. I hope the AVS looks clean and seamless because i can't seem to find any pictures of it on a 4runner.
 
Put AVS on mine a week ago along with their bug shield. Less $ than others and it is noticible as to why. Wavy plastic. Is what it is, only notice when I wash the truck. Perform what they are intended to do just fine. Look fine 10' away. Lol

Someone mentioned paint protection film. Yikes, have seen sooooo much of it going bad around here. I do contract graphic work for body shops and have had to start refusing jobs offered to remove & replace that product. Made the mistake only once taking such a job. The stuff cannot be removed (without extraordinary effort) once it starts going bad. Not even with stripe removal tools. Had a shop call me in a panic one day after he took in a large motor coach with the entire front painted area covered with it that was deteriorated. Frustratedly asked me what to do to get that "crap" off! I suggested he strip it and repaint. Great product in theory, and maybe there is a good quality one out there, but scares me.

Really looks good.any issues with it? Is this the outside mount or the in chanel mount? Does it make any wind noise? I am thinking of getting these avs seamless or the weathertech in chanels..

Hi,
I have a brand new set of WeatherTech's in the smoke gray color. I didnt like the way they looked, so I took them off. Somebody make me an offer! They were on the truck for MAYBE ten minutes.

I'm having a tough time figuring out if I want to go with Weathertech visors or the AVS low profile set. It seems that the AVS are a thinner plastic and have some flex to them but the Weathertech's seem to affect the windows rolling up at times and dont look as "clean" to me.

Anyone out there try both and can compare the two?
 
this time around I am going naked. so far I haven't missed them. but then again I don't smoke in the vehicle anymore so that made a big difference.

I've had both on the 4Runner. Just ordered the Ventshade Stick ons from Amazon. Why?
1. PITA to clean under the in channel
2. Issues on rolling up, especially the rear
3. Had a rear in channel blow off somewhere in southern Illinois or Missouri.
4. In channel about 2X the stick ons in price.

I have never had any issues with the AVS. The looks of the Weathertech In channel versus the AVS Ventshade are a wash IMO. Both allow you to crack the window in the rain so they are both functional. I don't smoke but in my climate cracking the window in humid rainy conditions will allow the defroster to work much better, which is why I use them.
 
just make sure if you get the AVS stick on you get the low profile ones. the regular one's stick out 3-4 inches compared to the low profile of 1-2 inches.
