Window Visors

I have never had any issues with the AVS. The looks of the Weathertech In channel versus the AVS Ventshade are a wash IMO. Both allow you to crack the window in the rain so they are both functional. I don't smoke but in my climate cracking the window in humid rainy conditions will allow the defroster to work much better, which is why I use them.

I agree the low profile ones are, well, ...... low profile!
However, I specifically ordered the original AVS stick- ons because they stick out further! I would have ordered the AVS off-road vent visors, which are much bigger still, but they don't make that model for the Runner.

Why would I want the bigger ones, you ask? Well, the reason I got these vent visors was for VENTILATION. To hell with looks or possible wind noise, I want air, and the low profiles do not offer enough of it. I have almost one and a half inches between window and visor, and that also allows me to have the window down well below the visor bottom edge in all but a driving rain storm. My pooch really appreciates it! (also, I haven't noticed any appreciable noise at highway speeds)

To each his own, but I have seen some low profile in-channel visors that offer so little air, they are not worth the bother.

that should be it. it's 3M tape on. It's still holding up and yes, you can drive with windows down.
 
i used to have the avs slim visors when i owned my scion xb. the look is clean and flat. the negative was that at high speeds the visor would shake and rattle. i changed to a 3m tape on jdm style off ebay and i had no problems for 4 years.

Thanks for the heads up! Does that mean I get a share of their sales? The company claim to have $80 million annual sales domestic and international but yet can't provide their own images? Looks like item is no longer available on Amazon. I can't seem to find the other on the first 2 link.
 
So, I actually have a set of Weathertech low profile visors that were never installed. They arrived with some small nicks in a spot I later realized you'd never see. The 'damage' is only on the front, not the rears. Vendor sent me replacements, and these others are just sitting in my garage. If you're in Orange County, CA and want to give them a go, I'll trade for some good IPAs or something. Just send me a message and we'll find a time for you to get them.
