windsheild washer reservoir swap from a tacoma

Has anyone done the Tacoma washer reservoir swap? Heard if you swap a tank from a tacoma it wont show the washer reservoir if you have an aftermarket bumper. If anyone has pictures or a link of the actual part needed for the swap that would be amazing. :help:

The only downside to my mod was the size of the container. Should of used a larger one. But I haven't taken the time to replace it either
 
05+ Tacoma reservoir. About $40 on eBay from the aftermarket.

I've been trying to find a wrecked taco for an oem version because....well, Toyota.

In the mean time I've just painted my bottle black so it's not as obvious hanging behind the Demello bumper.

Been doing the same thing for years. SEM trim black over the whole thing and it blends right in. Surprisingly my bottle hasn't been damaged yet either, so I'll likely not put much effort into swapping it until that happens.

Same with my Shrockworks, a rattle can works fine and is a lot cheaper than $40.00. Years without damage says it's the way to go.
 
about ready to start the relocate

Hey, I'm in the same position as you. Any info on the washer bottle relocate would be extremely helpful. I'm relatively new to working on vehicles and have a demello on order. Don't really want the washer bottle hanging exposed.

Yes.. the Tacoma bottle does not work I found that out the hard way.. I bought this one off amazon and just mounted it.. works great and is hidden perfectly under the hood!

Thanks for getting back to me, you saved me finding out the hard way as well. That bottle does look small. however I guess I'd be able to live with it. Would I be able to trouble you for pics, or any tips for when I begin the project. Were you able to use this without losing function of the rear window washer port? Really appreciate the help, and I'll pass it along to the next guy! Maybe I'll do a full writeup to help other noobs like me once I'md one :)

I had a shop by my house install it and they were able to customize it to keep the front and rear working

Would love to see some install pics. I just bought a Tacoma reservoir today from a junkyard only to find out that it doesnt even remotely fit.

Still might cut down the Tacoma tank though and plasti-weld it back together. The seam would be at the top of the tank where the filler cap is so I don't think leaks would be a problem.

Yes the tacoma reservoir was definitly a failed attempt that was no where close to correct on my end.. I read something on other forums about it but I had no luck what so ever.. ended up going a different direction with a universal reservoir from amazon I posted earlier..
