My search-fu fails me. I have no doubts there's posts on this, but I couldn't find them, so apologies.

Ok, who likes what? Brands, styles, alternative sizes over OEM?

I know if you buy OEM from the dealer they have two kinds, the ones with the solid aero carrier and the cheap, flimsy skeletonized kind.

I think the nicer ones cost 2x as much.

DO NOT buy the Michelin ones they sell at Costco, mine lifted off at 60 mph.

I have had the Michelins from Costco for about two years, and have definitely driven faster than 60 mph XD

Actually the driver side wiper does not lock as strongly as the other one, so there's that, but about two months ago my gf got new Michelin wipers from Costco, and they have a newer design, with a much better lock, so for $6 each I would definitely give them a try.

Bosch all the way, all the time. I tried the Rain-X ones.....just horrible. But I still love Rain-X for the windshield and they put out a great de-icer/washer fluid.

PIAA Super Silicone.

I typically get 5+ years out of a set. They're expensive up-front, but last well and add a light layer of protection with each swipe. Run them on all of my vehicles.

Question, what did you use for search criteria? I would like to know how I failed so I don't add more fluff to the forums

I usually go for the Costco Michelins. The rubber wiper edge lasts better than the goodyear ones I've used. I haven't had issues with lifting or really anything else with them other than the rubber wiper edge eventually drying out after a couple years and streaking. I still have the OEM blades that I could toss in some inserts - but it's just easy to grab a couple at costco every 2 or 3 years.

I haven't been able to beat the Trico Force blades, they blew the bosch away imo. Have been using them for at least the last 80k. Also, I use the orange colored rainx fluid, have been for the past 20 years. That stuff makes a huge difference and I swear by it.

I don't think mine has the OEM blades anymore. They're the solid beam style, not the "truss" kind

I may have had a bad batch but my Costco Michelins were floating off the windshield at 60mph. I followed the installation instructions, but there may have been user error. I am a retard, after all.

Now that I'm not in snow and ice country anymore it's shocking how long wiper blades last, I used to have to change them every 4-6 months.

I didn't search within the t4r.org forum itself. I opened another tab and with Google I simply typed "5th gen 4runner wiper blades" and then found the threads that are from our forum.

The Bossman secret is now out! haha!

I've had nothing but great experiences with the Bosch Icon wipers. Living here in central Florida we get a lot of rain and these are the best I've used.

They are something like $8? I doubt quality control is a high priority. I don't doubt that some are better than others depending on which box you happen to get.

Living in Utah - we don't get a lot of rain or snow. So I usually just buy what's cheap and convenient. I think it may only have rained 3-5 times since this spring. And then a couple light snow days.

I use the RainX Expert Fit hybrid.
No complaints.

OE wipers and just replace the rubber blades when needed.
