Supposedly we'll see a final prototype next week that's not welded up, if that fits fine Joey will go into production, and then it takes a week after that for powdercoating and packaging. So early march. I know there was a delay due to swapping machine shops.

Our goal is to eventually make some for Gen 2 and 3 Tacomas and other 4Runners. We just have to get this damn 5th gen one out first.

I don't think he handles the orders... He was only involved with the design of the mount if I am not mistaken. If you got confirmation then yes, I would assume your order was received...

Correct. I don't handle orders. And in full disclosure I don't make a cent off these mounts. I helped bring them to market because others seemed interested in them.
I know Joey is going to give me a production update. But as you know these got delayed. They should be done soon. Hopefully they're machines this week or next and we can go from there. Trust me I want a pair as bad as any of you guys do.

Hi everyone, Joey here from Wits' End.
I wanted to first say thanks to everyone that has pre-ordered. It makes my life so much easier when I try to do forecasting on a particular product run.
When [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] and I first started figuring out the changes that needed to occur for this to become a production unit, I was in the final stages of switching out my production metal shop to a new one. This was supposed to be seamless. It wasn't.
The new shop is a much larger, high-volume shop that was looking to grow with me since their sales person came from the same shop I JUST left. Well that transition did not work out the way I had hoped so while I was having issues I still sought to find a reliable shop (being in Los Angeles gives me access to plenty). Well the next shop stepped up...made big claims...walked it back because this production wasn't large enough to get priority. Day after day it would get bumped.
So I got tired of it all as of today and going back to using one of my standby shops. The only issue with them is they are crazy expensive but at this point I really don't want you all to be forced to wait even longer just because I can't get my shops to play nice.
I have a meeting with them tomorrow and will be moving production with them and FINALLY this should be into production quickly!

So because of the reinforcement tab (which WILL be welded on the final production) we had to check tolerances.
And it fits, perfectly. Hooray. So next step is production, powdercoating, etc. But this was a major hurdle to pass through.
Also it looks a little rough around the edges, literally, but the final one will be rounded and de-burred.

Awesome Mount for Fire Extinguisher
@Lawn art and @WitsEnd thank you for a great design and excellent customer service. Its installed and fits like a glove. Plenty of room even with the Drake off road quick release! Did have to make very minor modification to my Weather Tech mats for those that have them. Outstanding!

Thanks. I know this whole project was a little frustrating for [MENTION=156193]Wits End[/MENTION] (due to shop issues and because I am a constant pesterer) but I'm glad the reviews have been positive!
I think this is almost 10 months from start to finish. I know I won't take on another project like this.
