Thats a decent haul, but think of how much fun it would be to follow your new bumper all the way back home haha.

rear is done. i decided to nix the fill plate on top idea since i just didnt feel like cutting the plate lol, and its not that big of a deal to me. also went ahead and put plate in the wings instead of mesh, not really sure why but i like it. i also added a cb antenna mount and a set-screw for the hitch receiver since i HATE the little bit of slop they all have and the noise that comes from it.
I hope you make these for the 4th Gen's

4th gens are weird...in the back. that stock bumper is HUGE! not sure how to work around that beast.

I had no idea this thread existed! I knew you were a craftsman Mr. Whitson but I had only seen your racks prior to this. I'm interested to see your rear setup if your going to tackle that as well. Best of luck to you, glad your doing something you enjoy again.

price will be a little more than other "hybrids" on the market, simply due to labor involved. While the end result was great, all those angles and bends add up to a ton of time, especially the hoops on top (which I guess would be optional). The material has been bought and any day now I'll tote my wife's ride to the shop and tear it apart!

I am seeing between 550 to 800 so is that a safe bet for that range? Also curious about selling the blue prints or you shipping the metal cut but unwelded. Just curious as to what all you want to do with this portion of your business or how flexible you are per say. :thumb:

I think I can land around that range. As for selling one unwelded, that just won't happen. The first one was built on the truck, and off and back on, and off again... setting up a fixture or jig is going to be the hardest part of the process and even then, with so many angles and bends, it's going to be a lot of work on each one to get the cuts, bends and notches just right. Once again I've come up with something that takes a ton of work lol.

I fully respect that! Thank you for what you are doing and I have to say it you have one of the best looking bumpers on the market! I hope I can get one of your bumpers in the future!

Progress today- not much. Basically, I'm rebuilding this with reproduction in mind, as well as a feasible install for folks. Right now, I don't see a way around needing some welding for the install. Hopefully that isn't a big deal as it's not much welding at all. Here's a couple shots of what will need the work. The first picture shows the factory bumper mount marked out to be trimmed, the lines are right on the factory welds since they will need to go. Next the cuts are made and your left with the remnants of a few welds to grind down and un-cap the frame rail. My plan is to make a new plate to be welded back on, to which the bumper will attach. More to show tomorrow!

Not really. Maybe change up the outer panels and use something other than expanded sheet metal but I don't even now what, maybe plate. But no big differences.

I may go with a different perforated metal, I just liked having the signals behind that area since it was "cleaner" than a big yellow lens in plain sight, in my opinion at least.
