worth buying to fix or part out?

Found a 96 sr5 2wd on CL for $900. Its got 220k miles on the clock. Body looks pretty straight and paint in pretty good shape in the couple pictures posted.

Here's the kicker, ad says it has a blown head gasket. Would it be worth buying to fix and sell? or maybe part out?

I'm buddies with a couple mechanic buddies that would help with the repairs for some beer.

My concern would be needing new heads or a whole new motor.

What you guys think?

if you have the extra cash and a place to put it why not? Have one of your buddies check it out and if it isn't too bad you could fix it and have a dd to maybe build your current one more or flip it right away. or part it and use whatever you might need while your at it. Thats my .02 cents but I've ben watching a lot of fast n loud lately so these kind of things are interesting to me right now haha

well you WILL need a new (used) motor ($1500-$2000) or major top end repair ($1500-$4000).

OR they wouldn't be selling it for $900 LoL

this is what happens when I take too much cold medicine…..I get crazy ideas lol

I did find a 3.4l motor, local, with <90k on it for $1200.

If I only had the space to make this happen.
