Why? I purchased my "new"car (2007) with about 550miles on the clock. It had to come from out of state (with the options and color I wanted). I'm at 104995 miles now and still purring like a kitten (Honda). Ask the dealer about the mileage if you want to.

Its one of the two TE I found w/ kdss/nav. It was people test driving it. It must have been 30 people with that many miles on it

From what I understand, the TE is very tough to come by. Unless someone vomited in it, or did physical damage to it, you should be fine. Try to get a discount, I think you can make a case for it (miles).
I wouldn't. Most people don't know how to properly sit down without wrinkling the lower part of the seat closest to the door. But this is just me being picky. Not much damage could be done within 400 miles though, but again, me being picky.

I bought my trail and it had ~315 miles on it. It did not bother me and I have had no problems with it yet.:lookout:
They are harder to find with KDSS and nav, I had looked for 3 or 4 months before finding one in black.

the best way to avoid the wrinkle seat is to get back about 20 feet and with a running start and door attendant opening door at about 5 foot to go, leap head first into cockpit. Be sure to land centered on cushion or you may end up with a dent from your elbow resting on center console, or fingerprints on the steering wheel. :trophy:
My Tundra had 350mi. on it when i bought it. Not a single issue or seat crease.
I got one hellova deal and they said the vehicle had been transferred from shared dealerships a couple times. You know- when they say they can get you a color that is not on the lot and the like.

No. If you are buying a new car, it should have less than 20 miles on it. If this vehicle has EVERYTHING you want, and you're not willing to wait for another shipment, then by all means, go for it. Again, if the price difference is not significant and it does not have everything you want from a 4Runner with less than 20 miles, then pass it on to the next fool. This will remove doubt down the road when you wonder about the break in period, who drove it before you, and knowing you did not break it in yourself.
If it's in a color that you like, I would buy it ASAP!! There are so few TEs around, I wouldn't worry about a few demo miles.
I've been waiting and looking in Denver for months. Dealers in CO and UT have told me April before they see their first TEs, with more to follow. In the two more months you'd have to wait you will have forgotten about those 400 miles.
Then add some rock sliders, so that you can jump in via the windows like the Duke boys, avoiding unsightly seat creases.

They shouldn't have let so many people drive it if they weren't going to make it a demo. It's like your future ride being ridden by 25 people...She still might make a good wife but who wants that
By not putting all the weight of my ass on the lower side bolstering.
