Well since I'm against gun possession charges leading to jail time
He didn't hurt anyone.
Really? Even for felons etc?
Didn't hurt anyone yet..
Exactly. Drug dealers don't have a bunch of guns because they're sport shooters.
Didn't hurt anyone yet..
The guy probably is a thug. But our justice system is founded on a presumption of innocence, and according to the article the only things he was found guilty of are things that shouldn't really be crimes anyway.
So I thought you guys were pro gun?
It seems people here think automatic rifles and military 50 cal weapons should be legal and some of you-all even believe in open carry of those military weapons ..
But
A guy who was not in the commission of using any weapons to harm anyone , had them in his private home should get 10+ years in jail? WTF.
And as far of as the drugs go, last time I checked pot was legal in CO.
Would you CO guys want the government going into your house just because the had a tip that there were some pot plants? What if the government did a raid on a house in CO and found illegal weapons such as an AR-15 converted to fully auto, or a silencer or other banned weapons.
Should the CO citizen get 10 years jail?
guilty of are things that shouldn't really be crimes anyway.
Why shouldn't it be illegal? Might as well allow any substance to be legal then.
Actually it is up to YOU and the CITIZENRY to make the case for why something should be illegal and not the other way around.
Meaning .. in America we don't make everything illegal by default and then publish laws describing what the serfs are allowed to do.
Instead we say everything is LEGAL unless it is specifically banned for a reason.
The citizens of CO already voted on pot and determined that it is safe enough for sale.
In order to make it illegal your side would need to justify the argument with facts showing why it needs to be banned.
The statement "why shouldn't it be illegal" just doesn't sit right with my libertarian sensibilities.
You sound just like a liberal talking about people who like guns.
"That gun may not have hurt anyone YET .... But it will" - every liberal against guns
Just like a liberal would duck the more pertinent question and flame me for what I had to say to muddy the waters... you're comfortable with not jailing felons in possession of guns?
