Did the TPMS bypass this morning and it worked like a charm. I am so happy that I don't have to stare at that little yellow light anymore.

I guess I need to get this done this weekend and solve the indicator issue permanently and pull the small piece of electrical tape off my gauge. However the piece of tape has worked really well in the interim.

Awesome!!! Took about 10 minutes and worked great! no more light! i used a wire to jump the two wires instead of cutting into factory wires, Great fix! i am already trying to do some research to see if i can do the same to my wifes tahoe. Thanks for the thread.

Thanks for this write-up. It worked on my 07 4Runner. I used the blue sized scotchlok and the wires were too small to be affected by the metal connector piece. I used my pliers to squeeze the metal connector forks closer together and that did the trick. I'm relieved I don't have to see that blinking yellow light anymore!

Excellent, excellent write up. The only thing I'd like to add is that you need to make sure you have good lighting (and reading glasses on (for us old folks)). I was just about to close the Scotchlock when I noticed that the pink wire I had was pink with a blue line. I quickly located the pink one with a black line and it worked like a champ. No issues. Oh - and the Advance Auto that I went to get the connector from had no idea what I was talking about when I said "Scotchlock". I found it anyway (red), so you may have to look on your own. It didn't say "Scotchlock" anywhere on the package.

This thread is the gift that keeps on giving. A couple of sensors just died on the '07 Sport we bought used last year and I have no interest in replacing all the sensors. My TPMS is called a "tire gauge."
Thanks to all who posted and especially to Subspd, whose pic was very helpful in determining exactly how to place the jumper. I went that route because I didn't want to cut wires and wanted something easily reversible.

I did this on my 06' and it worked fine for about 6 months. Last night the TPMS light came on. Not sure is the scotch fell out but it won't stop blinking at me. Any suggestions?

Check the scotch lock. Give it a good squeeze with some pliers and that should take care of it.

A few pages back I posted this...
Just jump the wires and leave it UNPLUGGED this way you don't have any spliced wires. If you ever want it to work again all you do is plug it back in! Easiest mod ever.
I have been running like this for almost a year, no issues.
