Hi all I'm new here and looking to buy a 3rd gen 4 runner. I want to get one in good or decent condition with preferably around 150k miles or less. Color doesn't matter. I need one with 4 wheel drive to have better traction when it snows out. I would be willing to travel a couple hours away to buy one if someone is selling one a bit farther away then my general area. I am located in Downers Grove Illinois, or the western suburbs of Chicago. I need to get one asap as I got a new job that requires more driving and I don't want to put any more money into my current vehicle. Let me know about any 4runners for sale in or around Illinois. I'm willing to pay $4k up to around $8k if the 4runner is in excellent condition.

If your willing to travel and have a budget of $8k max I would look out of the rust belt and look south. TN, KY, MO, You get the picture. I got somewhat lucky on mine and was looking for 2 years and it was in definite need of attention I picked it up from the original owner in buffalo grove. The Next one I get I'm gonna travel for it because its well worth it to get a good solid rust free rig. Just my .02c Good luck with the hunt! I'll keep scouring craigslist and if I find anything stuff ill PM you some links.
