Thread title looks familiar doesn't it.:hiding:

I'm looking for a 3rd gen for my wife. It needs to be 4wd and really clean. She isn't picky about color, other than me NOT wanting black. This is going to be her daily driver once I've given that the thumbs up. I'd like something with less than 150k on it if possible. I'm a mechanic and do all my own work, but I don't want to start with a project. I'll probably throw a radiator in it, timing belt, water pump, belts, hoses, and front and rear shocks (unless I know for sure that it was recently done) at anything I buy, just for the peace-of-mind when she leaves town in it.

I know what's out there on CL in Texas and have been to look at some of them. I'm willing to pay as much as $8000 for the right 4Runner. I'm willing to drive pretty much anywhere in Texas. I'm even up for the possibility of flying somewhere and driving the 4Runner back, if it isn't SUPER far away.

I've got an 01 Sport with 147k on it I've been thinking about selling to upgrade to a 4th gen.
I'd need 7k for it. Timing belt, rear shocks, valve covers, water pump and f/r brakes were all done recently.
Clean carfax, I'm the 2nd owner, original owner was from southern MO so it's rot free underneath.
Silver, gray cloth interior. Naturally everything works fine.
