WTB - 4th Gen Fuel Tank Skid

Hi all, I am looking for a stock or light aluminum fuel tank skid for my 06 v8 Sport. I have a full set of BudBuilt stainless steel skids now and will continue to use the front two, saved my butt more than a few times. I’m cutting weight where I can to pull a trailer. SS skid protecting fuel tank needs to go. If you have a skid and looking to sell or trade, let me know.

Thank you for the reply. Skid looks nice. What’s the weight? I already have a 3/16” stainless steel skid I’m taking off to reduce weight for towing a trailer. I need something light just so I don’t leave my fuel tank exposed. When I intend to do some serious wheeling, I can always put my BudBuilt skid back on if needed.

Yo t4rFun! I have my RCI transfer case and fuel tank skid that I still have to install. I can save the oem fuel tank skid if you want it. 07 v6 here.

That would be awesome if you don’t mind, and you are not too far away. I’ll have to check, but I assume it will be the same skid for my 06 v8. I’ll check tonight.

I lucked out, and found a fuel tank skid on eBay from a GX470 for a lot cheaper than the 4Runner skids. I got it for only ~$70. Shipping was another $80, but it was still a lot cheaper than the 4Runner skids, which tend to be well over $200 before shipping.

The GX470 and at least the V8 4Runner use the same skid.
